Academics<br />
The <strong>UWC</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Adriatic</strong> teaches <strong>the</strong> International Baccalaureate programme.<br />
This Diploma programme is adm<strong>in</strong>istered by <strong>the</strong> International Baccalaureate<br />
Organization headquartered <strong>in</strong> Geneva. The IB Diploma, <strong>of</strong>fered by more than 2,500<br />
<strong>in</strong>ternational schools throughout <strong>the</strong> world, is recognized for university entry <strong>in</strong><br />
over 80 different countries. <strong>UWC</strong> played an <strong>in</strong>novative role <strong>in</strong> establish<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> IB.<br />
Courses at <strong>the</strong> <strong>College</strong> are taught <strong>in</strong> <strong>English</strong>. Many students have been admitted<br />
to this <strong>College</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> past with very poor <strong>English</strong> and have managed, with great<br />
determ<strong>in</strong>ation, to master this language. Every student also learns Italian to foster<br />
a better understand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> country that is host<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
