Jeannie married Loyd Allen Lambert on
February 20, 1960, in Levelland, Texas.
They met while attending Levelland Schools
but never dated until they were both out of
school. They were married for 52 years and
moved to Quemado in June of 1969.
She was a member of the Quemado
First Baptist Church.
She was very involved in her community,
serving as presiding election judge for
many years.
She was a former school bus driver, substitute
teacher, cheerleading sponsor,
worked for the state highway department,
worked on archaeological digs, worked in
numerous restaurants, including special
interest groups such as the firefighting crews,
and she cooked for New Mexico Professional
Big Game Hunting service for years.
She was the greatest fan of the
Quemado Schools and all of their events.
She was particularly fond of all the students
and small children and considered all of
them her own.
Jeannie was preceded in death by two
daughters, Rhonda Linn Lambert and Kelli
Raye Lambert; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Allen;
daughter, Carla Ann Kalberg and husband
Dale; two grandsons, Casey Russell Kalberg
and wife Dawn, of Farmington, and Craig
Raylin Kalberg and wife Jennie of Quemado;
three brothers, Billy and wife Teena, Mickey
and wife Jessie, and Tommy and wife Jaynel
of Lubbock, Tex., Teddy Beadles of Big
Sandy, Tex.; one sister, Tammy and husband

was even sold from wagons. Chris
and I first opened our stand in San
Antonio in 1988.”
After Ernie Sichler passed
away in 1997, Chris and Paula
decided to continue his legacy in
Valencia County and kept his produce
stand open, taking over operations
in 1998.
The Sichler 650 acre farm –
under the brand name Snake
Ranch LLC - produces such
things as peaches, plums, melons,
watermelons, pumpkins, squash,
cucumbers and tomatoes. She said
there is a Sichler Farms in
Albuquerque, “but they are in no
way related to our farm.”
“Most of our fruits and vegetables
are marketed through our seasonal
produce stands which open
annually from August through
October,” Sichler said.
Through its reputation, the
farm sells to a multitude of restaurants
throughout the state.
“Likewise our chile has been
shipped by our customers all over
the world,” she said.
“We are celebrating throughout
our entire harvest season, which
includes in-store specials or celebration
specials, and giveaways,”
Paula said. “We are also introducing
four annual scholarships. Each
scholarship is worth $500, there
are two offered in Valencia County
and two offered in Socorro
County.
The scholarships are for one
male and one female student.
“The two scholarship winners
will be the Chile King and Chile
Queen of Socorro/Valencia
County,” Sichler said.
Judging will take place at the
San Antonio market September 7
at 3 p.m.
Paula Sichler, and daughter

market. The Los Lunas market,
managed by Steven, is located at
135 Sichler Rd.

launches public
auction service
Socorro County has launched
a new service for online public
auctions of County government
surplus items. The County has
partnered with PublicSurplus®,
an online auction service provider
for government entities. Any
member of the public can bid
online for items available from
Socorro County using a credit
card. Offerings will be updated
continually as departments dispose
of equipment and proper
approval is obtained by the Board
of County Commissioners and
applicable State agencies. To see
what’s currently up for auction,
just type “Socorro County Public
Surplus” into an online search
engine.
