Scholarship program
The U nive rsity and the R ochester
affiliate of the U rba n League ha ve an ­
noun ced th e first phase of a nati onal
scho larship program in whi ch they are
colla bora ting .
U nder the program 's provisions, the
U n iversity will offer ann ual scholarsh
ips ofa t least $2, 500 to two stude nts
in next fall's entering class, th e win ­
ner s to be selected fro m a group of ten

nomin at ed by th e U rban Leagu e of
R ochester. Beginn ing next yea r, the
U n iversity will invite th e 118 Urban
League affiliates n a tionwide to
nominate stude nts for the schola rsh ip ,
and will select up to fifteen winners.

achievement a nd leadership
q ual ities shown in extracu rricula r or
comm u ni ty ac tivities. Fina l selection
will be m ade by a U niversity
co m mittee .

1971 , he was an assis ta n t vice president
at C itibank in Ne w York Ci ty ,
wh ere for ten years he managed pen ­
sion a nd profi t-sh a rin g fu nds in th e in ­
st itu tio na l investmen t division .
