Collegiate Nursing Education,<br />
an autonomous arm <strong>of</strong> the<br />
American Association <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong>s <strong>of</strong> Nursing. Just in time for the holidays, “Return <strong>of</strong> the Creche: Nativity<br />
Scenes from Around the World” opens at the Castle Gallery.<br />
Featuring more than 100 creches donated to the <strong>College</strong> by<br />
Eileen Maxwell Canty ’55 and her husband Jim to form the<br />
beginning <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong>’s Kate Canty Creche Collection, the<br />
exhibit includes creches collected by the Cantys during their<br />
world travels over the past two decades.<br />

Part <strong>of</strong> the Centennial celebration,<br />
an academic convocation and colloquy<br />
focusing on the “Primacy <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Liberal Arts” are held. During the<br />

work, this year’s High School Women Artists<br />
Exhibition draws 102 entries from high<br />
school juniors and seniors in 27 schools in<br />
Connecticut, Delaware, <strong>New</strong> Hampshire,<br />
<strong>New</strong> Jersey, and <strong>New</strong> York.<br />
Holy Family Chapel is the setting for<br />
a fully-costumed performance <strong>of</strong> the<br />
one-act opera Amahl and the Night<br />
Visitors, which features a 17-piece<br />
orchestra and solos by members and<br />
friends <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong> Community.
