Adding value
We are keen to add value to our customers’ products wherever possible
- from assisting with new research and development through to
stocking and JIT delivery where required.
Our approach is to supply “ready to use” components to make
fabrication and assembly easier. In our rolling mill, we manufacture mast
profile ‘longbars’ hot sawn to a range of lengths.
Technical excellence
We recognise that the mast assembly is crucial to overall truck
performance. We work closely with our customers’ engineers to develop
the optimum mast shape and steel grade for each truck application.
This “partnership” approach assists our customers in building and
strengthening their own position in the market. We offer a whole range
of technical advice on issues such as weldability, fracture toughness and
fatigue.
We have over 40 years experience of designing and cutting rolls for
manufacturing mast profiles and we are committed to continual
product improvement.
We offer a range of low carbon high strength low alloy steels which
are ideal for mast manufacture. They incorporate fracture toughness
properties which are sufficient to cope with the twisting and bending
stresses experienced by the largest paper handling and container
handling trucks.

• We offer an extensive range of mast and carriage (hanger) bar profiles.
• Our production facilities provide our customers with flexibility and
security.
• We manufacture Channel, I-Beam, ‘J’ and ‘Offset J’ sections for mast
assembly.
• For truck manufacturers who prefer unique designs, we design and cut
rolls which are reserved exclusively for their use.
In addition we offer:
• Cold sawing to finished mast lengths.
• Fabrication of profiles. For example drilling, notching or machining.
• Shot blasting to provide a cleaner and smoother surface.
The company’s advanced engineering group is able to simulate
the performance of alternative steel grades using computer-aided
engineering tools. This collaborative approach with customers can solve
specific engineering challenges and lead to new possibilities in product
design and material application.
