Barrier to Greenwich. View the changing face of the river frontage 

at Docklands and Canary Wharf before passing through Tower 

Bridge. From here on, every way you look there is something of 

interest – the Tower of London, HMS Belfast, the Globe Theatre, 

St Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern, the National Theatre, Big Ben 

and the Houses of Parliament. If time and tide allow we cruise on, 

passing Lambeth Palace and the Tate Gallery to Chelsea where we

d’Eperlecques’

Derek has selected the WW2 bunker at d’Eperlecques (near 

St. Omer) as the destination for his next guided tour. Located at 

the edge of the Eperlecques forest, this enormous building, 

standing 22 metres high and covering 1 hectare, represents a 

technical feat of engineering. It was meant to house the first 

launching base for the V2 rockets but when construction was set 

back by British air strikes in August 1943, it was decided to 

transform the site into a plant for manufacturing the liquid oxygen 

needed to power the engines of the V2 rockets. During your visit, 

you’ll learn about the construction of the site as well as the story 

of the V1 and V2 rockets.

Saltaire is a complete 19thC industrial village, built by Sir Titus 

Salt, the local mill owner. The textile mills, public buildings and 

workers’ housing are an architectural delight and its urban layout 

survives intact, giving a vivid impression of Victorian philanthropic 

paternalism. Salt’s Mill contains some great contemporary art 

(including works by local artist, David Hockney), antiques, books 

and a café. You’ll learn all about Saltaire’s history and heritage 

during our introductory guided walk (which you can omit if you 

prefer) and then have free time to explore at leisure before we 

continue to Haworth, the world-famous village that will be forever 

associated with the Bronte sisters.

Grassington & Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival 


Sit back and enjoy the stunning Dales scenery as we make our way 

to the popular village of Grassington, in the heart of the Dales, and 

then on to picturesque Kettlewell, where over 100 scarecrows will 

pop up in gardens, open spaces, hidden corners and even on 

rooftops. Home-made teas will be on hand!

● Cancellations: If you need to cancel your booking, you will need to 

telephone us first and you must then return your ticket(s) to us for any 

refund that may be due. Cancellations can only be accepted during 

office hours and charges are determined from the time that the Firm 

receives written notification of the cancellation. We charge a fee to 

cover administration and other costs and the following scale of charges 

will apply: 

Up to 48 hours before departure 20% of total paid

Please note: No refund will be given for any meal, theatre ticket, 

admission charges etc.which are included in the ticket price and are not 

recoverable by us. On most tours, if your cancellation is made more 

than four weeks before departure, you may be able to change your 

booking to another day tour on payment of a transfer fee of £1.50pp. 

You are also welcome to pass your ticket to a friend but it is a good 

idea to let us know of the change. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 

● We reserve the right to withdraw an excursion due to lack of support or 

circumstances beyond our control. This rarely happens and cancellation 

would usually be made no later than one week before departure. In 

such cases your fare would be refunded in full and this would be the 

limit of our liability. 

● All special offers are subject to the firm’s rules and conditions that are 

currently in force and all day excursions are operated subject to our 

standard terms and conditions of carriage, a copy of which is available 

from our office. We must reserve the right to pass on any increases in 

costs that are outside our control, e.g., VAT, fuel costs, etc. 

● It is always our intention to operate an excursion in accordance with the 

published itinerary but we must reserve the right to cancel or amend 

any excursion, should circumstances make this necessary, either prior to 

or during an outing. We cannot accept liability for changes made 

necessary by events or actions by persons beyond our control. 

● All arrangements made for meals, visits, theatre, etc., and for the use 

of road vehicles, trains, or any other means of conveyance operated by 

persons or bodies other than ourselves, are made by us as agents for 

and on behalf of our passengers and on the express conditions that we 

will not be responsible for any loss, damage, injury, delays or 

inconvenience caused to or sustained by passengers other than by the 

negligence of the Firm and its employees who are under the direct 

control of the Firm. Any terms and conditions imposed by such other 

contractors through the Firm shall be binding on the passengers as if 

they had directly contracted such services. 

● Special Care For Disabled Customers: Some excursions involve 

long journeys and lengthy walking and some visitor attractions 

(especially theatres) may have steps and no lifts. We always make a 

special effort to help disabled customers and if you tell us about your 

disability before you book, it will help us to help you. Our drivers are 

happy to provide general assistance to passengers but will not be 

expected to provide assistance that extends to the bodily lifting and 

carrying of any passengers, nor to act as carers for any customer during 

the tour. Two front seats are reserved for a Registered Disabled 

passenger and their companion on each tour. We are happy to transport 

wheelchairs, walkers and scooters, at your own risk, as we cannot be 

held responsible for any damage to them. Due to Health & Safety 

legislation, passengers must be wholly responsible for loading and 

unloading, assembling and dismantling their scooters (into no more 

than five pieces) and each piece must weigh less than 40 lbs. 

● In order to comply with Health & Safety Regulations, any customer 

wishing to board the coach with items other than normal hand luggage 

or suitcases, must obtain authorisation from us at the time of booking. 

We reserve the right to refuse permission to board if we consider a 

passenger has any items or equipment that will be detrimental to the 

health and safety of our staff and/or other customers. Our drivers are 

not permitted to take any action that may put at risk their health, 

safety, welfare or the legal requirements for a break in duty. 

● Mobile phones: If you have to use a mobile whilst on the coach,
