3.2 GOALS, OBJECTIVES AND ACTION PLAN GOAL 1: TO PROMOTE MORE USE OF ACTIVE TRANSPORT MODES FOR HEALTH AND ENJOYMENT AND AS ALTERNATIVES TO PRIVATE MOTOR VEHICLE TRAVEL Encouragement – Education RESPONSIBILITY OBJECTIVES SUMMARY OF ACTIONS, PROJECTS AND PROGRAMMES TARGET (WHERE APPROPRIATE) PNCC, MDC and other partners May 2007 – Ongoing 1.1.1 Promote Manawatu Active Transport Strategy • Develop a promotional campaign to raise awareness of the Ongoing strategy • Regular review and implementation 1.1 To encourage more people to use active transportation more often instead of driving cars for day to day trips, tourism and recreation.
