I would like to be an arbitrator for Dial-a-<br />

Cab. I have been on the circuit since its<br />

Lords days - over 37 years - and have always<br />

been a keen radio man. I have never been<br />

put on complaint, however I have sat on the<br />

Complaints Committee many times and I<br />

know all the procedures. I have the ability to<br />

look at a complaint from both sides and<br />

many drivers know that I am a fair person as<br />

I speak from my heart – especially at AGMs.<br />

If you give me your support, I will<br />

endeavour to do my best and promise to be<br />

fair to both sides as I have a lot of experience<br />

and am always for the driver.<br />

Why I would be suitable for this post. As<br />

a DaC subscriber for over 35 years with an<br />

unblemished record, I have been fortunate<br />

to develop my knowledge of and experience<br />

of the standards of behaviour and service<br />

expected by our members.<br />

As a member of London Taxi Guides Ltd,<br />

my role allowed me a valuable insight into<br />

the day- to-day operational challenges within<br />

a company.<br />

I feel that I have the personal qualities that<br />

would enable me to make clear, informed<br />

and reasoned judgements based on the<br />

expectations and standards of behaviour that<br />

the society has worked so hard to build.<br />

I would like to be considered as an<br />

Arbitrator.<br />

I am married and have 3 children of 22, 16<br />

and 13. I have been a cab driver for 23 years<br />

and on the Dial-a-Cab circuit for 15 years.<br />

My main interest is football and I coach my<br />

youngest son’s team. I have also completed<br />

many courses in coaching and am currently<br />

doing the ‘A’ Licence and training to be an<br />

Educator so that I can put youngsters through<br />

their coaching badges at weekends.<br />

I am fair, open-minded and a good listener.<br />

I am fully aware and understand the<br />

stresses, strains, highs and lows of being a<br />

cab driver.<br />

PARKING AT THE CENTRAL<br />

As all DaC drivers realise by now, we are getting hit with numerous parking tickets. However,<br />

we have liaised with one client in the Lambeth area to decide on a new pick-up point in an<br />

attempt to avoid problems for our drivers.<br />

In future, anyone picking up from the Central Office of Information in Hercules Road, SE1<br />

should go round the corner to Newnam Terrace and ask for the passenger at the security guard<br />

entrance.<br />

This is a temporary arrangement to see if the new system works. These new instructions will<br />

be given on V6 for this particular account.<br />
