Welcome to 3 Mills Studios
Nestled in a picturesque and secure island oasis in the heart of
London’s famous East End is 3 Mills Studios, London’s largest studio.
Only 15 minutes from central London, 3 Mills Studios provides
a wide variety of stages, extensive resources, first-class service
and dedication to helping each client fulfil their creative vision.
Within a short space of time, this unique studio has been discovered
by some of the most successful independent filmmakers including
Wes Anderson, Danny Boyle, Tim Burton, David Cronenberg,
Mike Leigh, Ken Loach and Michael Winterbottom. We also attract
a wide range of clients from television, theatre, music and advertising.
Whatever your requirement might be – a six-month shoot or a one-day
rehearsal – we are flexible and can accommodate every aspect of your
production on site. We take client liaison seriously and our attentive
and experienced production support team will be on hand to assist
you throughout your time here.

Our 14 stages, ranging from 3,200 to 13,500 sq. ft.
offer an extensive selection for clients working on
a variety of projects – from small independents to major
international productions; feature films to television
programmes; music videos to theatrical productions;
events to photo shoots and commercials.
Features made at our secure and secluded site
include 28 Days Later, Brick Lane, Eastern Promises,
Fantastic Mr Fox, Franklyn, How To Lose Friends and
Alienate People, It’s A Free World, Sunshine and
Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride.
Successful TV programmes such as Hell’s Kitchen 3,
The Slammer and The Mighty Boosh have all taken
advantage of our facilities, whilst Amy Winehouse,
The Feeling, KT Tunstall, Super Furry Animals and
Westlife have all made music videos here.
Other credits include photo shoots by Alison Jackson,
Mert and Marcus with Victoria Beckham, Madonna for
H&M and advertisements for Rimmel, Mazda MX5,
Vodafone and much more.

World-renowned dance, theatre and opera companies
continually hire our flexible rehearsal spaces. We offer
plenty of ceiling height to practise aerial work, sufficient
space to house an entire orchestra and room to
replicate the arena floor of The Royal Albert Hall.

Royal Opera House, Barbican Theatre, Shakespeare’s

Exterior and location shooting opportunities
3 Mills Studios provides myriad location shooting opportunities –
both on and off site.
The Studios’ exteriors and interiors have doubled as police
stations, hospitals, nightclubs, airport lounges and urban London,
New York and Victorian streetscapes. We also offer a unique
prison cell and exterior prison set.
Additional cost-effective and convincing on-site locations include
period buildings, cobbled streets, car parks, roads and walkways
all within the studios’ secure and controlled environment.
The whole of metropolitan London is on our doorstep, with its
diverse range of location opportunities including the East End,
Canary Wharf, City, Docklands, Greenwich and Soho, as well
as direct transport links to the UK’s beautiful countryside.
What’s more, we work with the UK Film Council and screen
agency Film London, giving you access to the foremost
filmmaking locations and world-class resources across the UK.

Directions to 3 Mills Studios
3 Mills Studios is the closest film studio
to central London with excellent transport
links via the motorway, international
airports, underground and railway.
By road from Central London
From the City take the A11 over the Bow
flyover to the second set of traffic lights.
Turn right into Rick Roberts Way, go round
the roundabout and left back onto the A11
again heading westbound. Turn left into
Sugar House Lane and follow the road to
the security lodge.
By road from the Blackwall Tunnel
Follow the A102 (becomes A12). Leave
at the Bow Interchange Junction with the
A11. At the roundabout take the third exit
signposted Stratford. Continue and turn
right into Rick Roberts Way, round the
roundabout and left back onto the A11
again heading westbound. Turn left into
Sugar House Lane and follow the road to
the security lodge.
By Underground
The nearest tube station is Bromleyby-Bow.
Take the pedestrian subway
underneath the main road (A12). At the top
of the stairs, turn right and walk down the
hill. Turn right at Tesco into Three Mill Lane
and cross the bridge to the security lodge.
By Bus
Bus services S2, 25 and 108 stop outside
Tesco and Bromley-by-Bow tube station.
By Air
The nearest airport is London City Airport.
We are also accessible from Heathrow,
Gatwick. Luton and Stansted airports, via
mainline trains or underground.
By Train & Dockland Light Railway (DLR)
The nearest mainline station is Stratford.
From the station catch buses S2, 25 and
108. Bow Church and Devons Road DLR
stations are 10 minutes walk away.
Please note that all vehicle access to the site is via Sugar
House Lane and pedestrian access is via Three Mill Lane.
