Road Soldiers News
The RSCC held its October
General Business Meeting
on the 39 th of the month!
Well, it was really 08
November, of course,
because things just got away
from the club in October.
John Brown, our Chairman,
appointed the obligatory
audit committee and the
bike fleet was set to be both
called in and winterized for
the long off season.
Consideration was given, in
the meeting to getting the
trike fleet professionally
serviced and this was moved
and approved with A & B
Hobbies and Cycles winning
the work. Also a new
recumbent delta-style trike
will join the ranks and it will
be purchased from Elmore
Cycle and Fitness, Elmore’s
new bike shop that sits on
the North Coast Inland
Trail. These two bid awards
conclude the financial
business of the club for ’12.
The membership looked at
and approved, provisionally,
the 2013 schedule. We
decided to work it up well in
advance this season so that
it can be constructed while
Lance is still available
(before he retires). There

Ceremony will be held on
December 15 at 12:00 noon in the
Ohio Veterans Home Great Room.
There will be a reception
immediately following the
ceremony.
will likely be some edits and
changes to the schedule in
the offing, but most of it is
now set.
Dave Wilson will be
assuming the role of the
Staff Liaison to the
RSCC in the coming
year. He will have
much to learn and
master as a “newbie”
to the club. He has
enthusiasm and is a
genuinely warm and
engaging person, so
he should fit right in.
He is also
athletically inclined
and that, of course, is
necessary in the role.
The club now looks forward
to the Christmas Banquet
that will be held, again, at
the Clyde George G. Stoll
VFW Post #3343. We’ll
drink the Wassail and enjoy
the company of that
splendid post and its
members.
However, in this month of
November, the month of the
Day of National
Thanksgiving, we do take
pause to thank the countless
post members, trail
judicatories, rangers,
maintenance workers,
county veteran service
officers, and voters who
have made our trail rides
possible on so many public
trails in Ohio. We also
thank our OVH leadership
for accommodating our long
schedule of rides and events
across much of northern
Ohio. Without all kinds of
people supporting us, we
could never do the events
and rides that we enjoy.
So, we, the Road Soldiers,
thank all who have assisted
us over the last year and the
seventeen seasons that we
have pedaled across much of
northern Ohio. Thank you,
one and all, for supporting
us and serving those who
served!
