Silk Degrees Botanical Color
A plant-based hair color treatment that imparts soft, shimmering color to both color-treated
and/or natural hair color. These colors deposit jointly through absorption and through the added
adherence offered by special hydrolyzed proteins. Colors last through 6-8 shampoos and then
fade completely from hair. This is a perfect way to refresh color or to try a color change before
making it permanent. The colors contain no ammonia or peroxide. Silk Degrees Botanical Hair
Colors come in 6 shades: Honey, Red, Copper, Platinum, Chocolate and Mahogany.
Silk Degrees Botanical Hair Colors can be applied to both virgin and color treated hair. Results
on previously color treated hair will most likely be more dramatic, as the hair is typically more
absorbent and receptive to this unique botanical color system.
Silk Degrees Formulation Mixing Guide
Directions: Shampoo with Pravana Sulfate-Free Clarifying Shampoo and thoroughly towel dry.
Apply color directly to hair without mixing with any developer. Process under a plastic cap for
15-20 minutes. For increased intensity and greater color durability, process using a heat source
such as a hooded dryer.
Brunette Levels 3-5
Chocolate: Produces soft to vibrant, rich chocolate overtones while blending gray. Mix with
Mahogany for cool violet/brown overtones while blending gray. Mix with Red to
create warm red/brown overtones while blending gray.
Honey: Adds warm, golden honey overtones on level 7. Mix with Copper to intensify to a
warmer fiery golden/copper glow. Mix with Chocolate to blend gray and
produce a soft, golden honey brown.
Copper: Produces a golden to fiery copper overtone depending on hair’s level. Mix with
Mahogany to create a red-setter red tone on levels 4/5. Mix with Chocolate to
blend gray and produce a warm, golden/copper brown.
Red: Produces a warm red/brown overtone on level 3 with more vibrancy on levels
4/5. Mix with Chocolate to blend gray and produce warm red/chocolate
overtones.
Mahogany: Produces a soft but rich Mahogany overtone depending on hair color level. Mix
with Red to spunk up a red/mahogany overtone that is vibrant on levels 4/5. Mix
with Copper for red setter red overtones that are quite vibrant on levels 4/5. Mix
with Chocolate to blend gray and produce cool red/violet/brown overtones.

Medium Levels 5-7 Golden Tone
Honey: Adds warm golden honey overtones. Mix with Copper to intensify to a warmer
fiery golden/copper glow. Intensify color and shine by dryer processing 15-20
minutes.
Copper: Adds a fiery golden/copper glow. Mix with Mahogany to create a red setter red
glow. Intensify color and shine by dryer processing 15-20 minutes.
Red: Ignites intense shine and red to tinted reds. Adds warm red/brown to levels 5/6
and more intense red tones to level 7. Mix with Copper for red/copper tones.
More intense on levels 6/7. Mix with Mahogany for red/mahogany tones. More
intense on levels 6/7.
Mahogany: Adds soft to intense violet/red brown to blonde overtones. Mix with Copper to
create a red setter red tone. More intense on levels 6/7.
Light Levels 8-10
Platinum: Imparts silver/platinum overtones on levels 9/10. Neutralizes gold on level 8
blonde. Controls yellow on gray/white and level 9 blonde. Mix with Honey to
create soft gold/beige overtones.
Honey: Produces a warm golden honey overtone on levels 8/9. Mix with platinum to
create a soft gold/beige overtone. Mix with Copper to create a vibrant
gold/copper overtone on level 8.
Toning Highlighted Hair
1. Remove foils, clarify hair with Pravana Clarifying Shampoo and towel dry.
2. Apply Silk Degrees Shine Treatment and Shine Serum (optional) per directions.
3. Rinse and thoroughly towel dry hair
4. Overlay with your choice of naturceutical color and process for 15-20 minutes at room
temperature.
5. Rinse and style as desired.
Platinum: On level 9/10 produces cool neutral beige to silver platinum tones that sparkle
with incredible shine. Neutralizes gold on level 8 to produce neutral beige
blonde. Mix with Honey for Gold/Beige tones.
Honey: Produces soft warm honey golden blonde tones on highlights while gently
introducing incredible shine and warmth on lightest brown/blonde normal to
tinted hair.
Copper: Produces intense fiery copper tones on highlights and a warm copper glow on
normal/tinted hair with incredible shine. Mix with Honey to reduce the intensity of
Copper.
Mahogany: Produces an intense, vibrant, rich violet/mahogany dark blonde that blends with
mahogany lights on normal/tinted hair with incredible shine.
