Christen’s son, Johannes<br />

Meldgaard Andersen, starts<br />

situated in Herning,<br />

Denmark.<br />

1970<br />

<strong>Sanita</strong> maintains its<br />

position and launches colorful<br />

clogs and that year’s big hit –<br />

wooden-soled boots.<br />

1983<br />

<strong>Sanita</strong> is converted into a<br />

holding company – and<br />

exports grow.<br />

The flexible San-Flex model<br />

launches and becomes a<br />

tremendous success. Clogs<br />

are no longer made with<br />

wooden soles only.<br />

2001<br />

<strong>Sanita</strong> forms a sales company<br />

in the US to better service the<br />

American market.<br />

<strong>Sanita</strong> is sold to new owners,<br />

who reach 40 million Euro in<br />

sales from distributors in more<br />

than 50 countries.<br />

<strong>Sanita</strong> produces more than one<br />

million pairs of clogs annually,<br />

of which just over half are<br />

exported.<br />

corners of footwear: workwear,<br />
