For more than two decades we have been work<strong>in</strong>g with our clients to f<strong>in</strong>d the best <strong>solar</strong> power solutions<br />

for their homes. However, one issue that we kept com<strong>in</strong>g up aga<strong>in</strong>st was that some just did not want <strong>solar</strong><br />

panels on their roofs.<br />

For them we have developed a <strong>new</strong> <strong>in</strong>novation <strong>in</strong> <strong>solar</strong> <strong>energy</strong> for the home, a <strong>solar</strong> greenhouse that’s<br />

unique <strong>solar</strong> cell arrangement can produce approximately 50% of the average household’s 1 electrical<br />

needs (1,600KWh 2 of <strong>energy</strong> per year).<br />

This stunn<strong>in</strong>g and practical <strong>solar</strong> greenhouse would be an excellent addition to any garden. Made from<br />

durable and susta<strong>in</strong>able western Red Cedar wood and glazed to maximise the potential for any green<br />

f<strong>in</strong>gered client’s plants, our <strong>solar</strong> greenhouse enables you to fully exploit the <strong>solar</strong> harvest<strong>in</strong>g potential of<br />

your home. It comes with a 25 year warranty, and qualifies for the government’s Feed In Tariff (FiT) which<br />

pays out an average of £900 a year to people who use quality <strong>in</strong>stallers such as New Horizons <strong>Solar</strong> to fit<br />

their <strong>Solar</strong> <strong>PV</strong> solutions for generat<strong>in</strong>g clean, green <strong>energy</strong> for their homes.<br />

Full sunlight <strong>in</strong> spr<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Dur<strong>in</strong>g the w<strong>in</strong>ter & spr<strong>in</strong>g the low sun angle<br />

casts shade outside the greenhouse. The large<br />

area of clear glass walls provides full sunlight<br />

for the grow<strong>in</strong>g plants.<br />

Shade <strong>in</strong> summer<br />

In the summer months the roof provides shade<br />

for the plants, whilst the clear all around glass<br />

gives diffuse light through the greenhouse with<br />

no scorch<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

Clear glass all year round<br />

Additional shad<strong>in</strong>g such as bl<strong>in</strong>ds & shad<strong>in</strong>g<br />

pa<strong>in</strong>t is not required as the <strong>solar</strong> roof provides<br />

the summer shade. On overcast days, & <strong>in</strong><br />

w<strong>in</strong>ter months the clear glass rear roof & walls<br />

provide good light levels as shad<strong>in</strong>g has not<br />

been applied to them.<br />

Semi-transparent roof<br />

The <strong>Solar</strong> roof is semi-transparent; the space<br />

between cells is transparent. Giv<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

greenhouse a light modern feel.<br />

Free electrical heat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> w<strong>in</strong>ter<br />

A safety protected 13 amp socket is provided<br />

as standard <strong>in</strong> the greenhouse. Optional<br />

electrical storage heaters can be run us<strong>in</strong>g free<br />

daytime <strong>solar</strong> power, without effect<strong>in</strong>g your<br />

payments, and used to heat the greenhouse<br />

at night.<br />

The greenhouse is provided with manual<br />

w<strong>in</strong>dow ventilation as standard on front, rear &<br />

sides with optional louvers and automatic<br />

openers.<br />

The <strong>solar</strong> <strong>PV</strong> glaz<strong>in</strong>g is approved under the<br />

MCS scheme, and eligible for feed-<strong>in</strong> tariff<br />

payments.<br />

The greenhouse uses high efficiency<br />

polycrystall<strong>in</strong>e silicon <strong>solar</strong> cells produc<strong>in</strong>g<br />

between 30% and 50% of the average<br />

household 3 electricity per year.<br />

Payments for the power produced and sav<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

us<strong>in</strong>g the power will earn you £566 to £943 2 per<br />

year, these payments are <strong>in</strong>dex l<strong>in</strong>ked to RPI for<br />

25 years, tax free.<br />

1.The performance of <strong>solar</strong> <strong>PV</strong> systems is impossible to predict<br />

with certa<strong>in</strong>ty due to the variability <strong>in</strong> the amount of <strong>solar</strong> radiation<br />

(sunlight) from location to location and from year to year. This<br />

estimate is based upon the Government's standard assessment<br />

procedure for <strong>energy</strong> rat<strong>in</strong>g of build<strong>in</strong>gs (SAP) and is given as<br />

guidance only. It should not be considered as a guarantee of<br />

performance.<br />

decades. Western Red Cedar conta<strong>in</strong>s natural<br />

oils that resist moisture decay and <strong>in</strong>festation by<br />

wood bor<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>sects–help<strong>in</strong>g your greenhouse to<br />

stand the test of time.<br />
