For more than two decades we have been working with our clients to find the best solar power solutions
for their homes. However, one issue that we kept coming up against was that some just did not want solar
panels on their roofs.
For them we have developed a new innovation in solar energy for the home, a solar greenhouse that’s
unique solar cell arrangement can produce approximately 50% of the average household’s 1 electrical
needs (1,600KWh 2 of energy per year).
This stunning and practical solar greenhouse would be an excellent addition to any garden. Made from
durable and sustainable western Red Cedar wood and glazed to maximise the potential for any green
fingered client’s plants, our solar greenhouse enables you to fully exploit the solar harvesting potential of
your home. It comes with a 25 year warranty, and qualifies for the government’s Feed In Tariff (FiT) which
pays out an average of £900 a year to people who use quality installers such as New Horizons Solar to fit
their Solar PV solutions for generating clean, green energy for their homes.
The Solar PV glaze comes in three sizes for generating 1,000, 1,300 and 1,600KWh annually of energy,
but because of the arrangement of the cells within the solar panels enough light will always penetrate for
the plant life inside your greenhouse to thrive.

Full sunlight in spring
During the winter & spring the low sun angle
casts shade outside the greenhouse. The large
area of clear glass walls provides full sunlight
for the growing plants.
Shade in summer
In the summer months the roof provides shade
for the plants, whilst the clear all around glass
gives diffuse light through the greenhouse with
no scorching.
Clear glass all year round
Additional shading such as blinds & shading
paint is not required as the solar roof provides
the summer shade. On overcast days, & in
winter months the clear glass rear roof & walls
provide good light levels as shading has not
been applied to them.
Semi-transparent roof
The Solar roof is semi-transparent; the space
between cells is transparent. Giving the
greenhouse a light modern feel.
Free electrical heating in winter
A safety protected 13 amp socket is provided
as standard in the greenhouse. Optional
electrical storage heaters can be run using free
daytime solar power, without effecting your
payments, and used to heat the greenhouse
at night.
Fully ventilated as standard
The greenhouse is provided with manual
window ventilation as standard on front, rear &
sides with optional louvers and automatic
openers.

The solar PV glazing is approved under the
MCS scheme, and eligible for feed-in tariff
payments.
The greenhouse uses high efficiency
polycrystalline silicon solar cells producing
between 30% and 50% of the average
household 3 electricity per year.
Payments for the power produced and savings
using the power will earn you £566 to £943 2 per
year, these payments are index linked to RPI for
25 years, tax free.

procedure for energy rating of buildings (SAP) and is given as

A greenhouse which looks after itself
Western Red Cedar (Thuja Plicata) is the raw
material from which all our Greenhouses are
constructed, a wood which looks after itself,
remaining sound, solid and beautiful for
decades. Western Red Cedar contains natural
oils that resist moisture decay and infestation by
wood boring insects–helping your greenhouse to
stand the test of time.

Installation information
Planning permission is not usually required,
provided the criteria for permitted development
are met. A planning advice document is
available on request.
All the greenhouse electrics are contained in a
locked weather proof cabinet A buried armoured
cable (supplied) connects to the household
electrics.
