The project ”Opening Doors” began in<br />

January 2011 and is being carried out <strong>to</strong>gether<br />

with five partner organizations in<br />

the Czech Republic, Greece, Romania,<br />

Slovenia and the UK.<br />

The goal of the project is <strong>to</strong> create awareness<br />

on the various facets of <strong>violence</strong><br />

and <strong>to</strong> empower <strong>immigrant</strong> <strong>women</strong> from<br />

different ethnical backgrounds <strong>to</strong> take<br />

preventive steps.<br />

The project activities include Peer Leader<br />

training, Multiplier workshops, self<br />

defence training, local network meetings<br />

and international partner meetings.<br />

The conference aims <strong>to</strong> present the results<br />

and outcomes of the work that has<br />

been carried out in 6 countries. International<br />

experts will speak on <strong>to</strong>pics concerning<br />

aggression and <strong>violence</strong>. Peer<br />

Leaders will talk about their experiences<br />

and a panel discussion with Austrian politicians,<br />

experts and stakeholders will be<br />

held.<br />

Conference languages are German and<br />

English with simultaneous translation.<br />
