(SEDA)
Saskatchewan Elocution and Debate Association
(SEDA) promotes speech and debate activities in French
and English throughout Saskatchewan.
(Established in 1974)
Primarily, debate and oratory are performance arts, not
unlike singing. Each participant has his or her own
unique style and is encouraged to explore and develop a
range of expression. SEDA works to preserve this art
form and to encourage debate participation, as well as to
foster its development and evolution. SEDA is the only
body exclusively devoted to the development and growth
of debate and speech in Saskatchewan. Debate develops
language skills and is an excellent vehicle for selfexpression.
Debate challenges participants to view
social, political, moral, legal and ethical issues in light of
their experiences as Saskatchewan people. All
Saskatchewan people are welcome to inquire about
services, not just educators and students.
