The recent ribbon cutting ceremony at 717

Board members attended, as well as Chamber
members who are travel planners, concierges, and
business leaders, all interested in learning the latest

and staff were on hand in September for the
ribbon cutting ceremony of Fashion Factory
Boutique. The event was followed by a VIP
'Shopping Reception' while shoppers enjoyed
music, hors d’oeuvres, and sipped champagne.
The Fashion Factory Boutique is a luxury
designer store for men’s and women’s clothing,
shoes, and accessories at 40 to 80 percent
below suggested retail price. Designs from
Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Chloe, and all other
top designers were on display. Members of the
Chamber were treated with an additional 20
percent off. Fashion Factory Boutique is
located at 8601 Beverly Blvd., at San Vicente -
next to the Sofitel Hotel.

Signs DeLeon’s Parks Bill
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently
signed AB31, authored by Assistant Assembly
Majority Leader Kevin deLeon to prioritize
$400-million of Proposition 84 park funds for
underserved and park-poor communities
throughout California. Of particular interest to
Hollywood, was that the bill included a
provision that allows freeway cap parks to
qualify for the funds. The Hollywood Chamber
has been working with a coalition to create a
44-acre park above the Hollywood Freeway.
AB31 establishes a competitive grants
program administered by the California Dept.
of Parks and Recreation. California voters
approved Proposition 84 in 2006 that included
$400-million for new parks.
