1 Introduction / Event overview<br />
1.1 Introduction from the Chairman of the Organising Committee<br />
<strong>Rally</strong> <strong>Hokkaido</strong>, the second round of 2010 APRC, the second round of<br />
Asia Cup and the third round of 2010 Japanese <strong>Rally</strong> Championship again<br />
takes place in Tokachi rigion in <strong>Hokkaido</strong> Island<br />
.<br />
Since the first ever event held in 2002, with the time <strong>Rally</strong> <strong>Hokkaido</strong> has<br />
become recognised by Tokachi region as one of the major international<br />
events. During the last event, the new regional festival "<strong>Hokkaido</strong> Tokachi<br />
Genki Festival" and the fuel economy competition for spectators, called<br />
"Eco Run <strong>Hokkaido</strong>" took place together in conjunction with the rally.<br />
Together they helped to increase the economic effect for Tokachi region<br />
and reach 357 milion yen in total. This year the organiser and the people<br />
of the region will again work together for even more successful event.<br />
Like last year, the HQ will be established in Grand Vrio Hotel in Makubetsu town. The main Service Park<br />
will be located in Kita Aikoku Community Square in Obihiro. Kita Aikoku will also be the venue for the<br />
successful <strong>Hokkaido</strong> Tokachi Genki Festival, last year helped gatherthe largest number of spectators<br />
we've ever had.<br />
It is becoming a tradition to start the rally with the Obihiro SSS, which will be run as the opening stage of<br />
Day 1 (Day 1A) right after the Ceremonial start on Friday. Day 1B, similar to last year's, will will consist of<br />
the stages around Rikubetsu town including RIKUBETSU short stage and service in the Rikubetsu<br />
Remote Service. Competitors will return to Obihiro city and run the OBIHIRO SSS again as the last<br />
stage of Day 1B.<br />
Day 2 consists of the stages mainly established in the towns of Otofuke, Ashoro and Honbetsu. The<br />
stage in Honbetsu will change into the spectator stage. In addition, , two stages of the Day have been<br />
renamed - former PAWSE KAMUY stage is now called "ASHORO" and former SINOTCAKI stage is<br />
called "OTOFUKE" . The spectator friendly OBIHIRO SSS is again run at the end of the rally.<br />
Today <strong>Rally</strong> <strong>Hokkaido</strong> has become recognised not just as motorsport event but also as an important<br />
regional festival that gives rally fans and local inhabitants a great chance to enjoy their time.<br />
