CHS Annual Gala <strong>to</strong> benefit Children’s Home Society of <strong>Florida</strong>’s East Broward Auxiliary FORT LAUDERDALE: Guests are invited <strong>to</strong> CHS’s 22nd annual gala, set for Oct. 20,at the Westin Beach Resort & Spa. The evening will feature a birthday celebration of the organization’s 110 years of service <strong>to</strong> <strong>Florida</strong>’s most vulnerable children, silent and live auctions, and entertainment by the renowned “Marvelless Mark.” Michele M.Greene will be honored with th<strong>is</strong> year’s R. David and I. Lorraine Thomas Child Advocate of the Year award. Th<strong>is</strong> award recognizes individuals and groups who have made a significant impact <strong>to</strong>ward improving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned children throughout <strong>Florida</strong>. Lynne McGrath, president of the Symphony of the Americas Society, chairs the Style & Substance Luncheon. The event will include a performance by the Symphony’s Chamber Orchestra. The annual Style & Substance Luncheon benefits the Symphony’s Outreach Programs, which reach more than 35,000 people annually. Now in its 25th season, the Symphony of the Americas, Broward’s own professional orchestra, was recently designated as a Broward County Major Cultural Institution.
