1. Where do I launch?
Batson Public Slipway, Salcombe, TQ8 8DU SX 5024 3767 Boat Park Open 9.00am-6.00pm
2. How do I get my Trolley to Mill Bay?
There will a SYC representative at Batson to help take trolleys across to Mill Bay on Friday 6.00-8.00pm and on Saturday
6.00-7.00pm. After the racing on Friday 12th there will be a return service.
East Portlemouth Council and the National Trust request that boats are not delivered to Mill Bay by road between 9.00am
- 5.00pm.
3. Where do I park my trailer/car?
Pre Book a boat trailer Space on the entry form or with the SYC Office. Follow signage to Salcombe Primary School. Car
Parking is available at the Salcombe Park & Ride. Season tickets can be bought from the Salcombe Post Office and the
Tourist Information Centre.
4. How do I get to Mill Bay for Racing each day?
Bring your own inflatable with outboard, or use the East Portlemouth Ferry. Depending on the tide you can walk to Mill Bay
along the Beach or along the road. Hire a tender. Whitestrand Boat Hire will give you a 10% discount for a daily or weekly
booking (not hourly or four hourly) for getting to Mill Bay. Please mention the code ‘WBHSYC’ when booking.
5. Are all my family welcome at the Yacht Club?
Yes, indeed they are! SYC is family orientated. However due to Licensing regulations children are not permitted in the bar
but we do have a Cadet room. This year we are making our Mid Week Regatta Stomp particularly family friendly.
There are discounts for multiple entries from the same family with second and subsequent cadet boats half price.
6. Who should I contact with any queries during Regatta Week?

7. What is the Fairway?
This is a lane for non racing craft. It is set out in the Sailing Instructions and when you come to the briefing it will be
explained to you. The Briefing is 7.00pm on Saturday 11th August.

Last year Salcombe RNLI lifeboats launched 33 times,
with 11 rescues being during the hours of darkness.
The crew spent 474 man-hours at sea on emergency
callouts, rescued 44 people and 14 vessels.
Please come and support your local lifeboat crew at the following events
this summer:
August 8th at 18:00 Search and Rescue
Demonstration in the estuary with the lifeboats and a Sea King helicopter
from RAF Chivenor (weather and emergencies permitting)
August 14th Hope Cove Flag Day
August 15th Salcombe Flag Day - visit our lifeboats & station
August 16th Kingsbridge Flag Day
August 25th at 19:30 Jazz on a Summer Evening at Cliff House
