Teaching has always been my passion and I have always felt that education is the debt
due from present to future generations.
I believe that every child has unique individual traits and learning abilities. What he needs
is a Guru, a 'Dronacharaya' who can share, rediscover with him the joy, excitement to unravel the
mysteries of world we live in. A Guru who can Reboot, Reignite and Reinvent his inquisitiveness
about his surroundings.
There are basically three primary modes of imparting education. Generally we understand
things/concepts by listening to lectures, or by seeing things actually happen or by doing it
practically with our own hands. Only by using a combination of all the three methodologies can
the best results be delivered. While imparting sound education is an ART in itself, we use the
latest scientific analysis, tools and methodologies to enhance performance of a student.
Using a combination of mediums like Video Projection System, Computer Laboratory and
Physics Practical Experiments Lab, we are trying to bring out the best in each and every one of our
students.
With only two number of chances allowed to clear IITs, it becomes imperative for us to
provide you with the best facilities. Hence when it comes to investment in equipment for teaching
we believe in making no compromises.
Every year around 2-3% success rate in IIT-JEE, AIEEE & AIPMT creates a phobia in the minds of
the students. But in years of my teaching experience, I have observed that many average
students also, due to hard work and dedication to their studies have cleared IIT-JEE with flying
colours. There is no substitute for discipline and hard work. With proper guidance and nurturing

Unique Computer Laboratory
Our state of art computer laboratory is
equipped with latest educational software to
enrich your learning experience. Videos of
every lecture class are uploaded within 24 hrs
on our server and are available for viewing. Up
to 50 students can log on to our computer
network, and view different lectures,
simultaneously. This facility helps absentee
students to make up for the missed classes.
For difficult subjects repeated viewing of
lectures also helps in revalidation of concepts
and leads to better retention. This lab plays
very important role during revision of the entire
syllabus, as students can see all the lectures of
the entire course in a day or two which is
otherwise not possible.

TIPS TO STUDY :
l First and most important thing is to have
confidence in yourself. Don’t lose that
confidence while preparing for the entrance
exams. At home prepare a time table and
follow it strictly. Don’t ignore it.
l Studying in a quiet place helps in
concentration. Always study in good posture
preferably on a table-chair.
l Don’t study for continuous long hrs. Take short
breaks to relax your mind. You should not feel
over-stressed.
l Study by changing Subjects or Topics
frequently to avoid monotones and having
better retention.
l Have a regular pattern of study. This will help
you to concentrate more.
l Don’t waste time and don’t stress yourself.

Sleep for, at least, 7 Hours everyday. Study in a
balanced way and maintain a good friend
circle who will guide you when you face doubts
and also boost your morale.
l Have a balanced nutritious diet.
l Gauge your level by preparing a list of areas you
are strong at and the portions you are weak at. This
will help you in planning your action plan.
l Develop the habit of inquisition. Clear all your
doubts so that mentally you feel confident tackling
any concept.
l Try to be analytical rather than being intuitive. While
solving any problem, don't hurry to see the solution
as it doesn't help you to learn. Only when you've
pondered over it over a long time and unable to see
any light, should you see the solutions.
l Balance your time with all the subjects. If you focus
only on one subject, you may lose touch with other
two which may finally affect your performance.

l Stay away from Computers and Internet as much
as possible! This is a major distraction as you don’t
get to know how quickly time is slipping out of your
hands along with straining your eyes and body
which makes you dizzy and you are off to sleep.
l Make concept maps or rather paste notes on walls
related to important formulae and concepts. Note
down all the formulae somewhere.
l Don’t get complacent. Many good rankers in
coaching institutes become over confident if they
get good marks, which is bad in the long run, as
they lose out to lower rankers in the end.

have to work in full harmony.

About Study Material
lChoosing the right books for entrance exams is very
important. Consult your teachers about them to
make sure that you get your hands on the right
ones and don’t waste your time in trying out new
books every time.
l Refer to NCERT books and don’t get too involved
with advanced level books. The pattern for
JEE/AIPMT its such that cramming-based study
will generally not help. JEE/AIPMT emphasizes on
understanding of concepts and their application to
problems rather than cramming up facts.

About Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)
IIT-Mumbai
The indian institutes of technology (IITs), are a
group of sixteen autonomous engineering and
technology-oriented institutes of higher
education established and declared as
institutes of National importance by the
Parliament of India. The IITs were created to train
scientists and engineers, with the aim of
developing a skilled workforce to support the
economic and social development of India after
independencein1947.
Each IIT is an autonomous university, linked to
the others through a common IIT Council, which
oversees their administration. They have
c o m m o n a d m i s s i o n p r o c e d u r e f o r
undergraduate admissions, called joint
entrance examination (popularly known as IIT-
JEE) to select around 10,000 undergraduate
candidates a year.
The seven fully established IITs are located in
IIT-Delhi

Kharagpur, Bombay, Madras, Kanpur, Delhi,
Guwahti, and Roorkee. With the plan to setup
eight more IITs in the states of Bihar (Patna),
Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad),
Himachal Pradesh, Orissa (Bhubaneshwar),
Madhya Pradesh (Indore), Gujarat
(Gandhinagar) and Punjab (Rupnagar), and
the conversion of IT-BHU to an IIT, the total
number of IITs will be increased to 16. Six of
the eight proposed new IITs, namely IIT-Patna,
I I T- R a j a s t h a n , I I T- H y d e r a b a d , I I T-
Bhubaneshwar, IIT-Gandhinagar and IIT-
IIT-Roorkee
Punjab are functional as of June 2008 and
have admitted students for the 2008-09
academic year.
All IITs are autonomous universities that draft
their own curricula, and they are members of
IIT-Kharagpur

IIT-Kanpur
LAOTSE, an international network of universities in Europe and Asia. LAOTSE membership allows
the IITs to exchange students and senior scholars with universities in other countries. Out of the
4,82,262 approximately candidates who appeared in the examination conducted on April 10,
2011, only 13602 candidates have been declared qualified to seek admission for 8295 seats in IITs
at Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai, Delhi, Gandhi Nagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur,
Kharagpur, Chennai, Mandi (HP), Patna, Punjab, Rajeshtan, Roorkee, IT-BHU Varanasi and ISM
Dhanbad giving selectivity of 1 in 39 overall, and 1 in 55 approximately for the IITs only.
IIT-JEE is one of the toughest and most coveted Engineering Entrance
Exams in the world. The syllabus of the examination is based on topics which
are covered by the CBSE Board Examination (AISSCE) and the ISC Board
Examination, though all topics of the AISSCE
and the ISC are not included in the JEE
syllabus. The pattern of questions in JEE is
deliberately variable so as to minimize the
chance of students getting selected by
cramming up the probable questions.
Given the importance attached to the
JEE by students all over India, the IITs follow a
rigorous procedure when conducting it every
year. The exam is set by the JEE Committee
(consisting of a group of faculty members
drawn from the admitting colleges) under the
tightest security. Multiple sets of question papers are framed and the set that
is to actually be used on the day of the exam is known to only about five
individuals. In the past, the JEE has been noted for originality in its questions.
It's a matter of incredible pride to successfully clear this examination and
become a part of world of excellence that only IITs are able to provide.

This programme is for students who are presently
in class 10th & want to prepare for IIT-JEE/AIEEE
along with the board syllabus. In this programme,
we will complete 10+1 Board pattern syllabus
along with the IIT-JEE/AIEEE pattern study in 1st
year & 10+2 in 2nd year. Regular tests of IIT-
JEE/AIEEE pattern will be conducted. Programme
will start in the 1st week of April and admission will
be on basis of test whose

Institute. All practicals in the syllabus will also be

of 10+2 will also be covered in 10+1. So that more
time remains in 10+2 for the revision process.

One Year Programme for +2 pass students
This course targets those students who want to
qualify IIT-JEE/AIEEE/AIPMT. We will also
provide exclusive study material and test series
on IIT-JEE/AIEEE/AIMPT pattern with online
support.
Crash Course for CBSE -AIEEE Exam
This programme is for students who are
studying in class 10+2 or have passed class
10+2 and they want to prepare for AIEEE
exam. In this programme, we will brush up &
revise all topics according to AIEEE syllabus.
Regular tests based on AIEEE pattern will be
conducted Programme will start just after 10+2
examination. Details are available at reception
desk of the Institute.
Weekend Programme (WP)
This programme is for those students who are
presently studying in 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th
and can not attend a regular classroom
programme. This course will have a class
frequency of 2 days in a week on Saturday &
Sunday.
Correspondence Course
This course targets those students who want to
qualify IIT-JEE/AIEEE. We will provide exclusive
study material on the basis of IIT-JEE/AIEEE
pattern with online support.

Online Test Series
In this programme, we will conduct 10 part tests
& 5 full tests online based on IIT-JEE/AIEEE
pattern and BITS Pilani pattern. This
programme is for 10+1 and 10+2 class
students. This programme will help students
take up the tests at pace of their preparation.
CBSE-AIEEE 2012 is mandatory online for
students appearing in Chandigarh & 21 other
cities. It is expected that next year onwards it
will be mandatory for all students. To gear up for
this we will conduct at least 10 online tests in a
year for students who are enrolled in our regular
classroom programmes
Test & Discussion Series
This programme is for students who are
preparing for IIT-JEE/ AIEEE. Tests will be
conducted, based on IIT-JEE / AIEEE pattern &
there will be discussions based on the tests.
We will provide complete solution of tests also
on the website. This progamme will start in the

ABOUT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGIES
(NITS)
The National Institutes of Technology (NITs), is an
engineering, science, technology and management school
system in India comprising thirty autonomous universities,
one located in every state / UT of India. Since their inception
decades ago, all NITs were referred to as Regional
Engineering Colleges (RECs) and were governed by their
respective state governments. A parliamentary legislation in
2002 brought them under the direct purview of India's federal
government. NITs offer degree courses at bachelors,
masters, and doctorate levels in various branches of
engineering and technology. Each NIT takes 50 % of
students from its home state and 50 % from the rest of India.
Admissions in NITs and some other premium engineering
colleges are through All India Engineering Entrance
Examination (AIEEE).

The admission to the NITs, IIITs and many other prestigious
engineering colleges is through the All India Engineering
Entrance Examination popularly known as AIEEE.

About All India Engineering
Entrance Examination
The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India took a policy decision in 2002 to conduct an All
India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for admissions primarily
to the prestigious National Institutes of Technology (NITs). The NITs, now 30 in number, were created by upgrading
across India, Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) that were famed for the
diversified student exposure they provided. It is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
and last year on 1st May-2011, out of 10,53,807 candidates appeared, from which approximately 26,816 students
were offered admissions.
ELIGIBILITY
AIEEE tests a candidate’s knowledge of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and students who have completed or
are appearing for their 12th standard examinations (Higher Secondary Studies from a recognized educational
board) are allowed to appear for the AIEEE. One can attempt AIEEE only thrice, in consecutive years, first with
the qualifying exam and then in the next two years. Candidates belonging to GEN categories must secure at least
50% marks in aggregate in their qualifying examination to be eligible to write AIEEE .Whereas those belonging to
OBC, SC, ST, DS and PD categories must secure at least 40% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
There is no criterion for minimum age but candidates must not be above 25 years (GEN/OBC) and 30 years (SC &
ST).
RESERVATIONS
As per Government of India rules, candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for
them based on relaxed criteria. For the SC and ST categories 15% and 7.5% seats are reserved respectively. For
candidates belonging to OBC, 27% of the seats are reserved.
EXAMINATION PATTERN
AIEEE
There are two papers with the first for admissions into B.E. / B.Tech. courses comprising objective questions in equal
proportions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and the second for admissions into B.Arch. / B.Planning
courses comprising questions on Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing. Negative marking is applicable and 1/4th of
the total marks allotted to a question is deducted for wrong answers. The AIEEE 2011 paper was for a total possible
360 marks (120 for each subject). It is bilingual question paper. Normally the exam is conducted on the 4th Sunday
of April. The result of AIEEE is normally declared in the first week of June every year.

On successful registration of students at Pi
Scholastics, they get a I-Card. Students are not allowed
to enter Pi Scholastics premises if they are not wearing
their I-Card. A student's I-card also enables access to

Candidates who wish to attempt the mentioned medical entrance

AIPMT
Every year, applications are invited for All India Pre-Medical /
Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) to be conducted by
the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi for
admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical / Dental Courses
in all Medical / Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State
Governments, Municipal and other local authorities in India
except in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
The two-stage examination comprises a objective format
Preliminary Examination & Final Examination.
AIIMS

The date of the entrance examination is fixed to be in the 1
week of June. The paper is three and a half hours in duration
and has over 200 multiple choice and reason-assertion type
questions. There are 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry
and Biology and 20 questions from General Knowledge. There is
negative marking for incorrect answers.
JIPMER
The entrance test consists of 200 multiple choice questions equally
from English, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany. There are four
options for each question and there is no negative marking.

Candidates have to first give a written test. The syllabus of the

board syllabus of science and mathematics,
our target will be Olympiads, KVPY and other

Weekend Programme (WP)
This programme is for those students who are
presently studying in 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th &
12th and can not attend a regular classroom
programme. This course will have a class
frequency of 2 days in a week on Saturday &
Sunday.
Online Test Series
In this programme, we will conduct 10 part
tests & 5 full tests online based on IIT-
JEE/AIEEE/AIMPT pattern and BITS Pilani
pattern. This programme is for 10+1 and
10+2 class students. This programme will
help students take up the tests at pace of their
preparation. CBSE-AIEEE 2012 is mandatory
online for students appearing in Chandigarh
& 21 other cities. It is expected that next year
onwards it will be mandatory for all students.

About KVPY
The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an
ongoing programme started by the Department of
Science and Technology, Government of India to
identify and encourage talented students with an
aptitude for research in Basic Sciences, Engineering
and Medicine. This program strives to assist students to
realize their potential for successful careers in research
and development and generous scholarships are
awarded to the selected students (up to the pre-Ph.D.
level).
Eligibility
SA Stream: Students enrolled in class XI (science
streams) and having secured a minimum of 75% (65%
for SC/ST) marks in their class X Board Examination’s
aggregate of mathematics and science subjects.
SB+2 Stream: Students enrolled in class XII, aspiring to
join undergraduate programmes in Basic Sciences
(B.Sc./B.S./Integrated M.Sc.) and having secured a
minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST) marks in their class X
Board Examination’s aggregate of mathematics and
science subjects.
Selection Process
There are two stages in the selection process, namely, a
written examination followed by an interview.
Candidates from both streams, SA and SB+2, have to
appear for a written aptitude test (conducted both in
Hindi and English). The question paper in SA Stream will
have both multiple choice objective and descriptive
type of questions. There is no prescribed syllabus for
the written test but its purpose is to test more,
understanding and analytical abilities of students and
less, their factual knowledge.
Fellowships
The department of Science & Technology, Government
of India, offers attractive fellowships (` 4,000 to ` 7,000
per month) and a contingency grant (four months
fellowship) to selected students.

About Olympiads
Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education is the nodal
centre of the country for Olympiad programmes in
mathematics and sciences including astronomy. The
programmes aim at promoting excellence
in science and mathematics among pre-university
students. The following International Olympiads are
conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science
Education (HBCSE):

Since August 2008, a new integrated National Steering
Committee for science and astronomy Olympiads has
been overseeing all activities for these subjects.

science comprise a five stage process in each subject as

The first stage for each subject is organized by the
Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) and all
remaining stages are organized by the Homi Bhabha
Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).

The Mathematics Olympiad is conducted under the
aegis of the National Board of Higher Mathematics
(NBHM) and the programme is financially supported
by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE),
Department of Science and Technology, Department of
Space and Ministry of Human Resource Development.
All examinations are offered in English Medium,
however, the Junior Level NSEA Question Papers may
be available in Hindi, Gujarati and Bengali provided
there are at least 300 students opting for the respective
language.
Awards
HBCSE offers no career incentives (admissions or
scholarships) to Olympiad students. HBCSE views the
Olympiads mainly as a promotional programme to
encourage students towards basic sciences by
providing them with challenging academic
opportunities. However, some special merit awards, in
the form of books, etc. are given to students in
appreciation of merit at the end of the training camps in
different subjects of science.

Care in Pi Scholastics
Study Material & Home Assignments:
Study material is provided to the students in the form of Sheets and MQBs. A Sheet is typically a topic wise
collection of problems in each subject i.e. P, C, M, B & Z. It is provided to the students as printed Study
Material (topic wise). The objective of the Sheet is to achieve perfection in a topic while it is being taught
through rigorous practice of variety of problems of various levels. The entire syllabus is approximately
divided into 25 to 30 Sheets in each subject. The contents of the Sheet ends with Miscellaneous Question
Bank (MQB) which is a set of additional but jumbled problems and is meant for those students who want
more problems to practice. After each Theory Class, the student is assigned to attempt some problems
from the Sheet (keeping in mind around 15 Questions per Lecture per Subject) as Home Work. Further,
these problems are discussed in the successive Theory Class for better understanding of the concepts/
fundamentals of the portion of topic taught in the previous class.
Periodic Assessment Tests
To make students competitive and prepare their temperament for competitive examinations, Pi
Scholastics developed a multiple-level system of Periodic Assessment Tests and relative ranking
that encompasses the entire student pool which increases at every level.
Any Time Performance Report Any time parents can come to Institute and demand test record of
his/her ward.
OMR - Evaluation System
Our Unique performance evaluation system is one of the best of its kind and is available only with selected
institutes in Chandigarh. The marks scored by the student are accurately displayed.
The Difficultly Level Grading report gives the student a complete insight about each and every question in a
test. Based on the response of the class in a test, the questions are graded from easy to difficult. Any
incorrect attempt in the easier portion indicates either there is a careless mistake or gross lack of clarity of
concept. Not Attempted(NA) signifies an answer is marked wrongly. If it appears in the top of the chart, the
student has answered a difficult question wrongly. This can be used to find out if a concept has not been
mastered correctly. While a wrong attempt near the bottom of the chart signifies that a relatively easy
question has been marked wrongly.
Growth Report
The Growth Reports like the figure are generated to help the students/parents to monitor their
progress over a period of time. The graph in the report shows the percent marks obtained,
percentile rank in class and the highest marks obtained by the class in various tests.

Explanation of the graph
The Green line indicates the highest marks obtained in the tests. The Red line shows the actual
marks obtained by the student. The closeness of the Red line to the Green signifies how close the
student is to the topper. The Blue
line is for the percentage marks obtained by the student and the Brown line shows the percentile
ranking of the student which also reflects the understanding of the student in the class. Instead of
percentage, the percentile is a better parameter for evaluation because it gives a more realistic
picture of the student’s performance compared to the whole class which has taken the test of the
same difficulty level.
Parent Reporting
The results are sent to the parents immediately after each test via SMS. They can also be e-mailed
on request.

Process for Fee Refund :
If a student wants to leave the institute and opts for fee refund; he/she should follow the under mentioned steps:
· Collect the pre-formatted application of fee refund from institute's fee counter and fill it completely.
· Submit the filled-in refund application along with attachments (Original Fee Receipt(s), Original Identity Card and Study
Material Coupons* at Institute's Fee Counter.
· Collect the Acknowledgment Receipt of Refund Application duly signed & stamped by institute's authority and keep it for
future reference.
· We issue the fee refund in the form of A/c payee cheque only in favour of the student's father (in case if the father is not alive
then it shall be made in the name of mother or in case if both are not alive then it shall be made in the name of guardian in
blood relation).
· The fee refund cheque shall be sent by a registered post at his/her permanent address or the address given by him/her in the
refund application within 10 days from the refund application. It will be sent only if the student is eligible for any refund as
per the above stated rules.
· If the student/parents face any problem in the process of course fee refund; the office of Manager-Operations/ Centre
Manager can be approached personally/telephonically or through letter/e-mail/fax etc.
· The student/parents should understand that fee refund is a part of institute's policy and we follow the refund rules &
regulations as mentioned above in letter & spirit. However, if the request of refund is submitted (in written with required
documents) after the 'refund dates' are over, the institute shall not entertain it. Moreover, refund requests made
verbally/orally or through telephone/e-mail/fax shall also not be entertained.
· Any legal matter/dispute related to fee refund is subject to Chandigarh Jurisdiction only.
· Institute Management and the Managing Director of Pi Scholastics reserve the sole right to decide in the matter of fee
refund.
Fee Refund on Disciplinary Grounds: This is a very special provision regarding fee refund. If a whole Batch/Class or majority of
its students are found to be involved in an incident of indiscipline at any point of time during the academic session; the entire
Batch/Class or majority of students may be rusticated from the institute. In such a case, the fee refund will be as per the refund rules.
NOTE : Students applying for the Fee Refund are also entitled for the Distance Learning Programmes at 50% concession rates
which may be deducted from the refund amount.
