Annual General Meeting 2010 Minutes held at Pollok Country Park, Glasgow on
Saturday 29 th January 2011

1. Apologies for absence – Apologies were made on behalf of Andrew Jenkins, Paul
Hanson, Mark Mackenzie, Thomas Gifford, Peter Robinson, Hugh Chapman, Robert
Paterson.
2. Minutes of 2009 AGM, 30 th January 2010 – These were adopted as a true record.
3. Matters arising from 2009 AGM Minutes – There were none.
4. Officers’ reports
4.1 Vice-Chairman – Jamie Boyle thanked the committee members for contributing to
a successful year of well attended events; and thanked the membership for their
continued support of Scottish Branch events. He felt sure that 2011 would be as
much of a success as 2010 had been.
4.2 Secretary – Chris Simpson confirmed that he was to demit office & stand down
from the Committee. Chris said that he had enjoyed his time as Secretary and
was sure 2011 would be a successful year.
4.3 Treasurer – Eric circulated the 2010 End Of Year accounts that would be
submitted to HQ for audit. The Branch had an end of year (31.12.10) bank
balance of £5,596.20.
5.0 Appointment of the Committee & Officers for 2010
The Committee under-went some changes in membership; with Thomas Gifford,
Eamonn Wall, Mark McKenzie and Chris Simpson stepping down. Peter Robinson
stepped down from the “In Scotland” editor role. The addition of Fiona Melville who was
nominated by Chris Simpson and seconded by Matthew Cooper, was warmly welcomed
to the committee.

The vice-chairman thanked Peter Robinson for all his efforts over the years and thanked
those stepping down from the committee for their positive contributions in recent years.
The 2011 Branch Officers proposed by the Committee were endorsed by the
meeting.
The Committee & Officers are listed in the first appendix to these Minutes.
6. Other competent AGM business
The membership discussed possible ways of improving/developing communication and
working links with Ullenwood House. It was agreed to discuss this further at the next
committee meeting.
Ted Radford asked if anyone from Ullenwood House had been invited to the AGM.
Chris Simpson stated that an invitation had been made to AAHQ via an email to Mel
Sutherland, but no response had been received.
Angus MacKay asked if the committee could encourage more members. It was
suggested the committee discuss this further at the next meeting.
Donald Roger registered his thanks to Glasgow City Council for providing the venue
and for their hospitality throughout the day, with particular thanks to Mr. Ian Boyd.
Jamie closed the meeting after he had thanked members for attending, thanking Glasgow City
Council for organising an excellent AGM venue & facilities, and thanking Donald for arranging a
successful AGM.
