IYV+10 Grants Program The United Nations designated 2001 as the International Year of Volunteering. The year 2011 will mark the tenth anniversary of the International Year of Volunteering (known as IYV+10). As part of the celebrations and promotion that will occur throughout this milestone year, Volunteering WA will be offering funding of up to $1000 to community organisations. The aim of the IYV+10 Grants Program is to support both metropolitan and regional communities to celebrate this special year as a whole of community event. Applications that reflect partnerships between local organisations to run an event or display will receive priority. Funding may be used for administration, publicity, transport, hire of equipment and/or venue, entertainment (e.g. hiring a band), food, or non-alcoholic beverages. IYV+10 grants will be allocated on the basis of: • The grant being used during 2011 • Preference for activities involving partnerships between local volunteer organisations • Confirmation that the conditions of funding will be met For more information, and to download an application form, visit the following website: http://volunteeringwa.org.au Apply now for a Local Sporting Champions Grant Do you know a Local Sporting Champion? Are you, or do you know, a dedicated young athlete, coach or official participating in a state or national sporting championships? Are you aged 12-18 years old travelling further than 250km return for a state or national championships? If yes, then you or your team could be eligible for a Local Sporting Champions grant to help meet costs such as uniforms, travel, accommodation and equipment. Grants of $500 per individual and $3,000 per team are available for young people participating in a nominated National Sporting Organisation-endorsed state or national sporting championships or a School Sport Australia national championship. This program is an Australian Government initiative managed by the Australian Sports Commission and supports 7,000 young people each year. The grants are designed to help athletes, coaches and officials achieve their sporting goals and are distributed across all 150 federal electorates of the national parliament. Applications are open, so apply now! Applications must be submitted prior to the commencement of the nominated championships. SunSmart Club Funding – NOW $250 SunSmart Club Connect Funding now offers both metro and country tennis clubs $250 in funding to increase club membership by conducting a club activity or event such as: - Club Tournament - Corporate Tennis Day / Come and Try Day - Any other club membership initiatives The Sun Smart message must be presented throughout the event through the use of signage, participants wearing hats and using sunscreen. You will be asked to input your my Tennis ID Number. This is the only number you can use To obtain your number please contact Tennis West on 6462 8300. Entries for each event are open for at least 6 weeks prior to closing .Please DO NOT leave it until the night before to submit your entry because: • Your internet may go down; • you may not be able to get to a computer; • You may have forgotten to get your ID number; and • It’s after 8pm AND Tennis West is CLOSED And WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCEPT YOUR Australian Ranking OJT or AMT Tournament Entry. Redkite Tournaments Make a difference this tennis and holiday season and hold a Redkite Tennis Tournament to support children and young people and their families through the cancer journey.
