Using specific methods we analyze <strong>the</strong> causal relationship that exists between <strong>the</strong><br />

two variables. For this purpose we apply <strong>the</strong> EG (Engel-Granger) test <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> initial<br />

data series, <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> un-cyclical series <strong>and</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> corrected inflation rate.<br />
