Vedior launches new construction recruitment
company in Japan
For release at 9.00am on 6 October 2005
Vedior is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative providing qualified construction
personnel on a temporary basis in partnership with Frontier Construction & Partners Co.
Limited (“Frontier”), a company specialised in providing advisory and consulting services to the
Japanese construction industry.
Based in Tokyo, Vedior Contec will provide senior engineering personnel on a contract basis
for construction projects initially in the Tokyo Metropolitan area but eventually in other parts of
Japan and abroad. The company will also provide training and support to enhance the skills of its
workforce by gaining additional qualifications through the Japanese National Construction
Industry Training Association.
Zach Miles, Vedior’s Chief Executive said, “Vedior has a growing presence in the
professional/executive recruitment sector in Japan and this new initiative announced today
represents another step in our plans to develop our services within this fast-growing market. As the
world’s largest provider of professional/executive recruitment, we are ideally placed to take
advantage of growth opportunities in one of the most important recruitment markets in Asia.”
Vedior owns 51% of Vedior Contec with the remaining shares held by Frontier and local
management. Frontier had already established a contract recruitment business to respond to
the demands of its clients, and this has now been transferred to Vedior Contec to accelerate its
development .
The Japanese staffing market offers significant growth opportunities led by increasing
deregulation, ongoing industry restructuring, compelling demographic trends and an improving
economy.
Vedior already provides recruitment services in Japan in the healthcare sector under the brand
Supernurse, outplacement and career management services under the brand Fairplace Japan
and, more recently, permanent placement services under the brand Vedior Career.
