<strong>the</strong> Imperial Valley's salute to <strong>the</strong> beef<br />

championship rodeo on Nov. 7th and<br />
8th. At 10 a.m. on Nov. 7th, <strong>the</strong>re will<br />

University <strong>of</strong> California Riverside<br />
Extension, will be sponsoring a<br />
weekend course titled Mammals <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Colorado <strong>Desert</strong>. Two units <strong>of</strong> credit are<br />
given upon completion. <strong>Desert</strong><br />
naturalist, Jim Cornett presents <strong>the</strong><br />
course which covers <strong>the</strong> mammalian<br />
fauna <strong>of</strong> sou<strong>the</strong>astern California,<br />
including desert shrews and bighorn<br />

Nov. 6-8: The Country Parks Society<br />
<strong>of</strong> San Diego is sponsoring a Wilderness<br />
Weekend/Outdoor Adventure Program,<br />

This weekend (6th-8th) it will be held at<br />
Vallecito in <strong>the</strong> Colorado <strong>Desert</strong>.<br />
History and nature in <strong>the</strong> desert will be<br />
<strong>the</strong> main subject. Weekends include a<br />
Friday night campfire meeting,<br />
Saturday presentations and hikes, and<br />
Sunday concludes with a program<br />
focusing on <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>me <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> weekend.<br />
