We are pleased to report the 2010 <strong>Chamber</strong> Gala and its “Diamond Surprise”<br />

were a huge success.<br />

This was the result <strong>of</strong> many donations from our <strong>Chamber</strong> Members...donations <strong>of</strong> time,<br />

talents and expertise, donations <strong>of</strong> cash, auction items, desserts and drink trays. Thank you<br />

all so much. We appreciate your support. The event wouldn’t have been nearly as successful<br />

without everyone’s help, participation and ideas.<br />

We would like to give a very sincere and appreciative thank you to the committee members<br />

and volunteers for all their hard work and perseverance in handling the multiple tasks associ-<br />

ated with our Gala. We commend their commitment to completing a huge task in a most<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional and efficient manner while also working their full time jobs.<br />

We would especially like to express our gratitude to our <strong>Chamber</strong> Member <strong>Business</strong>es<br />

who have allowed their employees the time to volunteer for our 2010 <strong>Chamber</strong> Gala.<br />

Openings on BAB Schedule<br />

We’re already accepting reservations<br />

to host BAB in 2011.<br />

What’s involved? Hosts must provide a place for<br />

the BAB, refreshments, and prizes for the business<br />

card drawing. Co-hosting is an option for those<br />

members who aren’t sure whether they want to<br />

do it all on their own. Ask for a copy <strong>of</strong> our BAB<br />

Policy for complete BAB sponsorship information.<br />

To schedule a <strong>Business</strong> After <strong>Business</strong>, call the<br />

<strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice, 815-284-3361, to reserve a month.<br />

A refundable reservation fee <strong>of</strong> $150.00 is required.<br />

Rock River Sweep.org invites you to:<br />

Rock River Sweep 2010<br />

(A river clean-up)<br />

Saturday, July 31, 2010<br />

The 1st annual Great Rock River Sweep is a Rock River<br />

clean-up to be conducted in each and every community<br />

along the river for its entire 285 miles reaching from<br />

Horicon, Wisconsin to Rock Island, Illinois simultaneously on<br />

one Saturday morning and you are invited to participate.<br />

Organizations, groups, clubs, businesses, and individuals<br />

are encouraged to volunteer to fill the positions <strong>of</strong> 'Section<br />

Coordinator' in each community along the river.<br />

Rock River Sweep.org is a grass roots, not-for-pr<strong>of</strong>it organi-<br />

zation dedicated to preserving the health and ecosystem <strong>of</strong><br />

the Rock River and its tributaries in Wisconsin and Illinois by<br />

partnering the communities along its banks into a unified,<br />

volunteer effort <strong>of</strong> river revitalization and annual clean-ups.<br />

Catfish Tournament<br />

Returns to <strong>Dixon</strong><br />

The Cabelas KingKat Catfish Tournament will be held<br />

on June 11th and 12th in <strong>Dixon</strong> Illinois. The tournament<br />

is made possible by the financial support <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dixon</strong><br />

Tourism and Kodiak Outdoor Sports.<br />

Seminars and check-in is on Friday June 11st at Kodiak<br />

Outdoor Sports and the tournament begins on June<br />

12th. If you have questions or need an application<br />

Great music and food will be available at the Bean<br />

Blossom parking lot on River Road downtown <strong>Dixon</strong><br />

from 6pm sponsored by <strong>Dixon</strong> Tourism. Admission is<br />

$3 per person. The <strong>Dixon</strong> Lions Club will be holding<br />

their 50/50 drawing to benefit local projects. Drinks and<br />

food will be available for purchase. Entertainment will<br />

be provided by the "Rocksters" from 8:30pm. Come on<br />

down and join the fun.<br />

National Conference comes to <strong>Dixon</strong><br />

<strong>Dixon</strong> will be the site <strong>of</strong> the June 22 - 26, 2010<br />

Lincoln Highway Association National Conference.<br />

The conference will feature bus tours <strong>of</strong> historial<br />

sites, speakers, banquets, a book and collectibles sales<br />

room, an art show, a cruise night, a special visit by<br />

President Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln, and much<br />
