Superior performance-never done before-has been brought by this <strong>HK</strong>-<strong>399PW</strong>.<br />
AIT (Advanced Interline Transfer) CCD<br />
Newly developed AIT (Advanced Interline Transfer) CCD<br />
offers high sensitivity of f11 and very low smear levels of<br />
-135dB with 100,000 times lighting condition. This figure<br />
actually exceeds that of FIT chip.<br />
(*NOTE: Some manufacturers announce the smear level with only<br />
500 times lighting condition. <strong>Ikegami</strong>, however, measures with<br />
100,000 times lighting to have more precise figure.)<br />
FULL AUTO SETUP<br />
As previous <strong>Ikegami</strong> <strong>HK</strong> series camera had, <strong>HK</strong>-<strong>399PW</strong><br />
has FULL AUTO SETUP function. By performing FULL<br />
AUTO SETUP, total setup for video including lens, optical<br />
block and CCD can be made automatically. Also upon its<br />
necessity, LEVEL AUTO that adjusts only for video level<br />
and QUICK AUTO that does not need external chart can<br />
be performed. As such, this camera equips precise and<br />
automatic camera maintenance functions.<br />
Low Power consumption<br />
It's power consumption is merely approx. 10W thanks to<br />
the newest Digital Process IC and signal processing.<br />
This contributes the decrease of internal heat-up inside<br />
the camera and the stability of electric parts & its longer<br />
lifetime. In comparison with <strong>HK</strong>-388P (20.5W), the<br />
consumption is almost half of that.<br />
Compact & Light Weight<br />
The camera is ergonomically designed with low profile<br />
for stable on-shoulder operation work. It is possible to<br />
keep side angle of view. The shoulder pad is made of<br />
non-slip material, and camera weight is only 2.3kg<br />
(excluding VF and TA).<br />
Prompt Software Update via SmartMedia TM – data<br />
transmission on email<br />
So far, it needs a time and is rather troublesome when<br />
the software version is changed. Updated software for<br />
<strong>HK</strong>-<strong>399PW</strong> Camera Head can be sent as data through<br />
email etc, so by downloading it on SmartMedia and by<br />
slotting it in the camera and downloading, the update<br />
can be done promptly, simply and easily with less work!
Chip C4 ASIC<br />

designed at 0.18micro m rule, the<br />
video signals are digitized up to 38<br />
bit internal digital processing.<br />

Also since the remaining analog<br />
circuit in previous digital cameras such as White Balance /<br />
White Shading are digitized, it also contributes superb highquality<br />
pictures, with excellent S/N during all operation.<br />
Also Digital ENC circuit is built-in the chip, stable composite<br />
video can be obtained from camera head.<br />
■ S/N 66dB (PAL) / 68dB (NTSC) (Typical)<br />
Excellent S/N 66dB (PAL) / 68dB (NTSC), impossible figure so<br />
far, has been achievable thanks to newly developed CCD<br />
signal processing, improvement of Pre-Amp, digitization of<br />
remaining analog circuit and adoption of 14bit A/D conversion.<br />
Also the D/A converter for Video is 12 bit, so not only digital but<br />
also analog video out can be hi-quality.<br />
■ 14bit A/D Converter-Forerunner in industry<br />
Employing 14bit A/D converter that no one has ever done<br />
ensures the improvement of gradation on dark portion (Internal<br />
process : upto 38 bit). Also knee expand circuit that is<br />
incorporated at the first step of digital processing IC restores<br />
the linearity on high luminance portion that is lost during preknee<br />
process. This makes it possible to do the linear signal<br />
processing at 600% in digital process after pre-knee and it<br />
contributes the great improvement of the characteristics such<br />
as Knee, & Flare.<br />

■ ADAPTIVE AUTO KNEE<br />
In addition to the conventional Auto Knee circuit that varies the<br />
slope of the knee according to the degree of over exposure, the<br />
<strong>HK</strong>-<strong>399PW</strong> includes an Adaptive Auto Knee that adapts both<br />
the Point and Slope of the knee to give improved contrast in the<br />
highlight area. The Adaptive Auto Knee has five different pivot<br />
points, selected by the menu, so the operator can optimize the<br />
performance according to the application.<br />

New Prism<br />
■ Newly developed Prism Block<br />
At the events / programs with strong spot-light such as livemusic<br />
show or the night football match, you might have<br />
experienced the picture itself or around the spot-light becomes<br />
whity or foggy. Also in some cases you might have observed<br />
Golfball Ghost * 1 . These are the phenomeon caused by the<br />
reflection of prism. <strong>HK</strong>-<strong>399PW</strong> employs new prism – coating on<br />
the surface of prism ejection side has been improved – so as<br />
not to reflect the light on the side.<br />

This is the spotty ghost phenomena with color like dimple on golf ball<br />
when shooting the strong light at center of the picture. The closer the<br />
iris is, the more this becomes obvious.<br />

■ MCP-120 and OCP-399<br />
To control the full functions on <strong>HK</strong>-<strong>399PW</strong>, the MCP and OCP<br />
have been designed newly. Features exclusively available such<br />
as triple filters, upto 48dB gain up and custom color can be<br />
controlled by the new panels.<br />
System Expander SE-S500<br />
For the requirement of same performance as studio type<br />
Camera, System Expander SE-S500 is available. This unit can<br />
mount large lens and 7" VF. Same operability with conventional<br />
studio type camera can be achieved.In case of operation with<br />
large lens + 5" VF, the operation can be made without SE-S500<br />
by feeding the power to lens & 5" VF from DC12V CN (Max 2A).
Various DTL Functions Other Features<br />
New DTL functions are incorporated in addition to conventional<br />
Diagonal DTL.<br />
■ FINE DTL<br />
Newly developed "FINE DTL" prevents the increase of nonnatural<br />
edge on the portion where the luminance is different,<br />
and it contributes the increase of edge on fine portions.<br />
Because of the CHIP C4 ASIC, it provides more natural edge<br />
feeling without the deterioration of S/N. <strong>HK</strong>-<strong>399PW</strong> improves<br />
the characteristics of edge itself by 38MHz processing at the<br />
first stage of CHIP C4.<br />
■ WIDE-BAND-DTL<br />
By widening of DTL boost frequency, the picture becomes<br />
sharper especially when the zooming is at wide side of the<br />
object.<br />
■ NEW-SKIN-DTL<br />
The conventional Skin DTL is the function not added DTL to<br />
skin tone portion. The new Skin DTL eliminates the DTL edge<br />
only for the high frequency portion of skin tone more than<br />
conventional skin DTL to have more effect.<br />

■ CLEAR-VF-DTL (Patent-Pending)<br />
VF DTL is stressed only on in-focus point, so easier focusing is<br />
possible on the VF. Difference edging on the VF picture makes<br />
it possible for camera operator to adjust focus and find the<br />

■ HYPER GAIN<br />
The hyper gain upto +48dB allows a minimum illumination of<br />
0.03 lux (at F1.4 with 50% video level). Synchronized noise /<br />
random noise that is visible remarkably when gain up is<br />
drastically decreased, so gain up with clear picture quality can<br />
be obtained. Furthermore, optional extended sensitivity board<br />
can increase sensitivity upto 76dB (PAL) / 78dB (NTSC) (min.<br />
illumination approx. 0.004lux) by CCD accumulation function<br />
plus +48dB gain up.<br />

■ SUPER-KNEE<br />
The colour reproduction in high luminance area is improved<br />
since the high luminance signal is digitally processed with a<br />
super knee function after it is reconverted to a linear signal.<br />
This system retains the colour in the highlight area where it is<br />
washed out in conventional cameras.<br />

■ Custom Color Effect<br />
This color correction function gives the operator subjective<br />
control of hue and saturation of the six color vectors, without<br />
disturbing the linear matrix setup. A unique addition to the<br />
system is auto detection (AHD) for two specific colors chosen<br />
by the operator. After selecting the hue, saturation, and<br />
luminance level of the custom colors is under operator control.<br />

■ 16bit Digital Clamp<br />
16 bit digital clamp circuit that incorporates digital process IC<br />
retains high stability of video black level. It is effective to the<br />
black level change caused by the temperature change of A/D<br />
converter that sometimes happens with Digital processing<br />
camera.<br />
■ Serial Digital communication with lens<br />
Serial digital communication interface is available for the<br />
camera and the lens. Data communication, such as automatic<br />
lens file setting when the portable lens is changed, can be<br />
made.

Focus) and ECC [Electronic Color<br />
Compensation] (3200K /4300K<br />
/6300K /8000K), totally triple filters.<br />
By the random combination of<br />
these filters, whatever colour<br />
temperature condition is, suitable<br />
lighting and depth of field can be<br />
retained and the camera can be<br />
operated with same operation<br />
flexibility as conventional top-end<br />
broadcast cameras. All these triple<br />
filters can be servo / remote-control<br />
from OCP-399 / MCP-120.<br />
■ P (Personal). FUNCTION switch<br />
Functions frequently used can be<br />
assigned to the P.FUNC switch.<br />
This camera has two types of<br />
switches - push type and toggle<br />
type - aiming at the improvement of<br />
operation and prevention of misoperation.<br />
■ Pivoting triax connector<br />
This enables various angle of shooting<br />
without giving damage on triax cable.<br />
■ Easy operating Intercom / PGM control<br />
It provides Intercom / PGM control on the<br />
side panel. Operator can control those levels<br />
independently with keeping watching VF.<br />

■ Memory Card (Smart Media TM )<br />
Camera operating condition can be stored<br />
