<strong>Tour</strong> #4: Austrian Carriage Meet Posttal<br />

Participation in Autria´s biggest carriage meet. 2 ½ day program with beer tent entertainment, carriage<br />

rallies, a parade through the little town as well as a five day tour back from the meet via the<br />

Flexenpass and the Lech River valley to the Royal castles and back to Lake Starnberger See.<br />

Itinerary:<br />

Day 1: In the late afternoon arrival at the Posttal (Klösterle or Dalaas), in the evening entertainment in<br />

the beer tent. Accomodation in the best available hotel of town.<br />

Day 2: In the morning offical opening of the meet by the officials of the local government and the post<br />

administration. In the afternoon a small ralley of all participating turn-outs and carriages. In the<br />

evening prize awarding in the beer tent and folk music entertainment.<br />

Day 3: In the morning catholic service in the church, later a big parade of all carriages along the road<br />

through the town.<br />

Day 4: In the morning the mail-coaches will leave Dalaas and head uphill for the Flexenpass (1700m<br />

above sea level). Lunch at the famous ski resorts of Lech or Warth. Down the hills into the region of<br />

Tyrol and the Lech River valley. Overnight stop at Steeg, hotel "Post".<br />

Day 5: Travelling along the banks of the river Lech through pictoresque mountain villages and over<br />

mountain pastures with grazing cattle. Picnic on a bank of the river. In the early evening arrival at the<br />

estate and guesthouse "Schluxen".<br />

Day 6: Late in the morning via the historic "Prince´s Road" across the "Schwangauer Gitter" into<br />

Bavaria. Overnight at hotel "Müller" near the Royal Bavarian castles of Neuschwanstein and<br />

Hohenschwangau. Plenty of opportunity to visit both castles.<br />

Day 7: In the morning the mail-coaches travel northward to the Wies church, the most beautiful rococo<br />

church in Germany. Lunchbreak there in the former residence of the builder of the church, Dominikus<br />

Zimmermann. In the afternoon continuation of the tour through the mountain forests and along the<br />

"King´s Road", where King Ludwig II. once hastened from castle to castle. In the evening we arrive at<br />

Bad Bayersoien, a pictoresque village with an outstanding hotel "Parkhotel Bayersoien", where we<br />

spend the night.<br />

Day 8: The mail-coach leaves in the morning from Bad Bayersoien through huge forests and fens,<br />

later through farmland to Eberfing, a small farm village with a historic post inn, where we will stop for<br />

lunch. Leaving the Alps behind the mail-coach drives through wide meadows, with the Alps in the<br />

background. Early evening the mail-coach arrives at Kerschlach, the home of Coaching-in-Bavaria.<br />

Here the tour ends.<br />

Accomodations after the tour are optional.<br />

Transfer back to Munich on request.<br />

• 2 ½ days participation in the carriage meet with all programes of entertainment<br />

• five day horse-drawn mail-coach tour<br />

• seven nights and breakfast (4x 4* hotels, 3x 3*)<br />

• English speaking staff<br />

<strong>Tour</strong> #3 (last departure) and tour #4 can be ideally combined.
