September 2010–Present: Working with Dr. Thu Nguyen and Dr. Ricardo Bianchini on
• “Scheduling and energy management infrastructure in a green datacenter”
– Building a free-air cooled datacenter comprising a cluster powered by solar and wind
energy.
– Designing models for predicting the varying availability of green energy.
– Exploring scheduling paradigms (e.g., pre-computation, delaying) to maximize usage
of green energy.
May 2012–August 2012: Worked at Siemens Corporate Research (SCR) on
• “Scheduling Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging in Residential Grid”
– Developing scheduling method for EVs to be charged in residential power grid with
no/minimal infrastructure upgrade.
– Exploring user communication and pricing strategy for electirc energy used in EV
charging.
June 2008–December 2010: Worked with Dr. A. K. M. Ashikur Rahman on
• “Interference-aware Fault Tolerant Wireless Networks”
– Constructing k-connected topology using (k +1)-hop neighbor information.
– Construction of intereference aware topology with constant dilation factor.
