Birthday Spotlight
Janeen Harper
(continued from page 1)
What do you like best about your job? I love
the people that I work with and that every day is
different.
What will be your age on this birthday?
Forty-two.
Where did you grow up, and where have you
lived? I grew up in Batesburg, South Carolina.
After we married, we moved to Vidalia, Georgia,
and after that we moved to Forsyth, Georgia.
Whom do you call family? My husband of
twenty-three years, Travis.
That of which you are most proud? Right now
it would have to be my nephew who is serving in
the U.S. Army and just returned from Iraq.
What do you do in your spare time? I teach
skin care and color cosmetics with Mary Kay.
What is your favorite book or author?
The Bible.
What is your favorite local dining spot?
Red Lobster.
What is your favorite vacation and why? I love
the peacefulness of Hilton Head Island.
If you were not working here, what would
you be doing? Operating my Mary Kay business
full time.
What has been your most embarrassing
moment? I blew up balloons to decorate the
house to surprise Travis on his 19th birthday,
and I couldn’t figure out why they would not
float. I didn’t realize helium was the answer.
He and his family have never let me live that
one down.
What words of wisdom would you give to
students these days? To not give up on their
dreams and to believe in themselves.
What will you do when you retire?
I will travel the world.
