Re-energizing Leaders in the Community<br />
The James P. Shannon Leadership Institute offers personal and<br />
professional renewal for experienced leaders of philanthropic,<br />
civic, and community service organizations. Long-time public<br />
policy leader Marcia Avner reflected on her Shannon experience:<br />
“The Shannon Institute is unlike any other leadership program<br />
because it is genuinely focused on the individual. It’s an extraordinary experience<br />
for personal awareness and growth. I participated in the Institute at a time where I<br />
needed to think about how to be more focused around my passion for public policy.<br />
It helped me think about where I am, where I want to be, and I have actually acted<br />
upon the plan that I developed in the program. There is great joy in taking time to<br />
say ‘Who am I? What do I want to do? How can I fulfill that dream I have of what<br />
I’m going to give to the world and to myself?’”<br />
