A Tribute to The Women of Soul<br />

Over the past year the music world has lost many great artists. Our <strong>2012</strong><br />

Homecoming Show will pay tribute to musical legacy of Whitney Houston, Donna<br />

Summer, and Teena Marie. These Women of Soul have exemplified excellence in<br />

music performance and showmanship. Their careers have inspired many people<br />

throughout the world. The Closer for our <strong>2012</strong> Homecoming Show will be both<br />

entertaining and inspirational.<br />

<strong>2012</strong> Camp <strong>Information</strong><br />

Camp Registration will begin on Sunday, August 5, <strong>2012</strong> at 10:00 a.m. and our<br />

rehearsal will begin at 2:00 p.m. that afternoon<br />

All students are to report to the Paul Robeson Recital Hall promptly at 10:00 a.m. for<br />

camp registration. You will receive your CSU <strong>IMM</strong> <strong>Marching</strong> <strong>Band</strong> Uniform and<br />

Baseball Cap at this meeting, so be prepared with cash or a money order in the<br />

amount of $55. 00. If you don't have white band shoes, you can order those at<br />

Trophy Sports Center in Xenia, Ohio and the cost is $40.00. All students using CSU<br />

<strong>Band</strong> instruments will be assessed a usage fee of $20 per semester. This will include<br />

marching percussionists. All fees are payable at registration unless you make prior<br />

arrangements. Camp will end Thursday afternoon, August 9 at 8:00 p.m. Leadership<br />

Team and approved members of Tau Beta Sigma may move in on Friday August 3,<br />

<strong>2012</strong>, Wind and Percussion players a will be allowed to move into your residence<br />

halls on Saturday, August 4 after 12 p.m. Please note that it is your responsibility to<br />

register for housing by July 30, <strong>2012</strong>. The <strong>Band</strong> Office is not involved in this process<br />

and late registrations will not be Honored. <strong>University</strong> Housing has requested that<br />

we have each student register directly with Housing. Please do not call them on the<br />

phone unless it is absolutely necessary, as this is the busiest time of year for them.<br />

<strong>2012</strong> Camp Schedule<br />

All <strong>IMM</strong> <strong>Band</strong> members will receive a camp schedule at registration, but for now<br />

You need to plan for rehearsal each day from 7 a.m.‐ 9 p.m. We have one week to<br />

prepare for our first performance so we need to rehearse at optimum efficiency<br />

from the outset of our season. Here are some tentative dates you need to know now:<br />

Cleveland Labor Parade Chicago Illinois September 3, <strong>2012</strong><br />

CSU Homecoming October 3, <strong>2012</strong><br />

Section Specific <strong>Information</strong><br />

Percussion, you will be receiving additional information regarding your schedule<br />

From Mr. Goodwine. Your rehearsals will begin early. Please practice the<br />

Exercises and come prepared to audition. Be aware that in the past we have not<br />

been able to place every student who auditioned into the percussion section. It is<br />
