ORDER TEXTBOOKS ONLINE
In order to provide students and
parents with a more economical
and convenient system for ordering
textbooks, Baldwin has decided to
partner with MBS Direct and begin
using an online bookstore for textbook
purchases beginning with the
upcoming 2009 - 2010 school year.
Here are just some of the advantages
of utilizing Baldwin's Virtual
Bookstore: Order textbooks at the
Virtual Bookstore
• Early information regarding
booklists and pricing. The virtual
bookstore is scheduled to be open
online on July 15, 2009.
• When available, a used book
price option will be shown.
• Textbooks will be shipped
directly to your home with shipping
discounts available for early
ordering.
• Ability for students to sell back
textbooks at the end of the year.
Important information to remember:
• Book Purchases: Due to the
conversion to our Virtual
Bookstore, textbooks will not be
available for purchase at the
school on registration day. Please
make sure that students have purchased
their textbooks prior to the
first day of classes. We realize this
is a new process so please do not
hesitate to contact me directly with
any questions or concerns you may
have regarding the purchase of
textbooks. (see contact information
below)
• Used Textbook Sale: Since a
Used Textbook option will be available
on the Virtual Bookstore, we
will no longer have a used textbook
sale at the school.
LATE SPRING 2009
North Door
The Baldwin School
701 Montgomery Avenue
Bryn Mawr, PA 19010
The Baldwin Parents’ Association has had a
fabulous year filled with some of the most
wonderful and profitable events! We have
made new friendships and bonded even closer with
old ones! The community has come together and
supported the school in so many generous ways!
Thank you!
The Gala was a huge success with net profits
expected to be over $200,000! The community
celebrated in sports-chic attire in the new Athletic
Center. Many parents were just elated by the
venue itself. It was the perfect setting for the
“BSPN Zone” giving ample room to move around
and bid on the many special treasures. We were so
pleased with the evening; it brought so much positive
energy to the school! Parents are still complimenting
our dedicated volunteers and remarking
on the fun and relaxed atmosphere of the event! I
am personally grateful to our co-chairs, Julie
Horenstein and Susan Kuebler, who generously
donated so much of their time and energy to the
success of the Gala. They truly are wonderful ladies
who genuinely believe in the mission of Baldwin.
They did it for the girls and every detail reflected
that notion.
I have been honored to hold the position of president
this year, and I feel privileged to have had the
opportunity to become a more integral part of the
Baldwin community. Recently the Parents’
Association had the pleasure of presenting Head of
School Sally Powell with a very generous check in
the amount of $220,000! I am so delighted to have
this opportunity to represent the Baldwin community
and share with the school such a tremendous gift
from the Parents’ Association. It truly is a reflection
of the brilliant families we have right here at our
school. Thank you so much to the many volunteers
who have given so selflessly and genuinely to our
school; Baldwin is standing proud today!
This year has been a remarkable experience for me.
It has blessed me with new friendships and a deeper
appreciation for the gift we give our girls everyday at
Baldwin. Thank you for the opportunity to serve on
the Executive Board of the Parents’ Association. I
look forward to enjoying and supporting many future
Baldwin events.
