Dear IGTC-12 Participant,
THE FUTURE
OF GAS
TURBINE
TECHNOLOGY
On behalf of the ETN Board and the IGTC-12 Conference
Advisory Board I am very pleased to welcome you to the
6th biennual International Gas Turbine Conference in
Brussels. In the next two days, I hope that you will enjoy
the opportunity to join policy makers and gas turbine
specialists from the whole value chain to discuss the future
energy policy, market and technical challenges which our
industry will face.
The keynote sessions will debate the medium and longer
term outlook for the gas turbine industry. Distinguished
speakers during these sessions include political delegates
from the European Commission and the International Energy
Agency, as well as high-level industry representatives and
experts from the gas turbine research community.
Once the keynote sessions have outlined the political and
commercial expectations of the future, we will run parallel
sessions presenting future challenges which the operators

of gas turbine technology will face, as well as promising gas
turbine developments. The key topics to be addressed are:
Flexible operation & fuel flexibility
Plant & system integration
Maintenance for gas turbines
Core gas turbine engine component and process innovation
The requirements and on-going R&D projects for the
development of the next generation of gas turbine technology
will then be presented in technical parallel session on:
Combustion
Turbomachinery & system analysis
Materials
Advanced sensors & controls
