<strong>Family</strong> <strong>Service</strong> <strong>of</strong> RI CEO Margaret Holland McDuff was the recipient <strong>of</strong><br />

the 20<strong>10</strong> Child Welfare Leadership Award from the Alliance for Children<br />

and Families. The award is given annually to recognize an individual who<br />

makes a significant impact on public opinion and awareness about chil-<br />

dren’s issues and services. The Alliance is a national association <strong>of</strong> non-<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>it human services providers in the U.S. and Canada.<br />

Bank <strong>of</strong> America, National Grid were honored as <strong>Family</strong> <strong>Service</strong> <strong>of</strong> RI’s<br />

20<strong>10</strong> Partners in Philanthropy. Bank <strong>of</strong> America has been a vital force<br />

behind <strong>Family</strong> <strong>Service</strong> <strong>of</strong> RI’s annual event, Brighter Futures—a critical<br />

fundraiser and a popular lunchtime gathering for the business community.<br />

In addition to its longtime support <strong>of</strong> Brighter Futures, National Grid,<br />

in 20<strong>10</strong>, became a major supporter <strong>of</strong> the Providence Children’s Initiative,<br />

a project led by <strong>Family</strong> <strong>Service</strong> <strong>of</strong> RI to improve educational, economic<br />

and social outcomes for low-income children and families. Representatives<br />

from both companies received recognition at the November, 20<strong>10</strong><br />

Philanthropy Day event, sponsored by the Association <strong>of</strong> Fundraising<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals.<br />
