PROGRAM<br />
If you intend to graduate, you are responsible for scheduling the required<br />
30-minute petition consultation with a <strong>Foothill</strong> counselor online or by calling<br />
(650) 949-7423. You must meet with a counselor to complete the petition.<br />
Schedule your appointment well before the deadline. Appointments fill up<br />
quickly; plan accordingly.<br />

Be Smart—Your <strong>Student</strong> ID Is Where It<br />
Starts!<br />
Officially, it’s called the Associated <strong>Student</strong>s of <strong>Foothill</strong> <strong>College</strong> (ASFC) <strong>Student</strong><br />
Body Identification Card, but we call it the OwlCard. It’s yours when you pay<br />
basic registration fees each quarter. The OwlCard supports and makes many<br />
campus services possible. Use it wherever student ID is required. Your OwlCard<br />
has a computer chip that allows you to make purchases from the ASFC Smart<br />
Shop, and select copy machines and print stations. You may also use your card<br />
to check out books from the campus library or videos from the Media Center. Be<br />
sure to also show your OwlCard to get free admission to weekly <strong>College</strong> Hour<br />
and Heritage Month Series events. Use your OwlCard to buy discounted movie<br />
tickets, get discounted admission to <strong>Foothill</strong> athletic and performing arts events,<br />
food and café purchases, receive discounts at local restaurants and stores,<br />
get free psychological services advice, and receive free legal counseling. It’s<br />
the card that gives you emergency loans, campus event discounts, and funds<br />
cultural and social campus activities.<br />
How to Get Your OwlCard<br />
1. Pay student body fees at registration;<br />
2. Go to the ASFC Smart Shop (Room 2016) or Middlefield Campus <strong>Student</strong><br />
Resource Center in the Hub with registration receipt, photo ID and<br />
completed OwlCard application;<br />
3. Have your photo taken in the ASFC Smart Shop; and<br />
4. Your OwlCard will be processed while you wait.<br />
NOTE: You must pay your fees quarterly in order to have a current, validated<br />
OwlCard.<br />

The <strong>Student</strong> Affairs Office is the administrative office overseeing the Campus<br />

ASFC Campus Council—<strong>Foothill</strong>’s <strong>Student</strong><br />
Government<br />
Become a member of the Associated <strong>Student</strong>s of <strong>Foothill</strong> <strong>College</strong> (ASFC) by<br />
purchasing an OwlCard. The goal of the Campus Council is to give a voice to<br />
all <strong>Foothill</strong> students, enabling them to become an integral part of the college<br />
community. The voting members of the council have major responsibilities<br />
that include annual elections; appointing officers to campuswide committees;<br />
sharing governance in the development of <strong>Foothill</strong> <strong>College</strong> policies and annual<br />
budget; adopting and overseeing use of an annual ASFC budget; providing<br />
leadership for advocacy efforts on campus and at the state level; allocating<br />
funds for new programs and projects; and providing and administering a<br />
program of activities and services for students, including <strong>College</strong> Hour weekly<br />
events, workshops, conferences, and retreats.<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s with a minimum 2.0 grade point average (GPA), who are enrolled in<br />
at least eight units each quarter and have purchased an OwlCard, are eligible<br />
to join Campus Council. ASFC Applications are available in the ASFC Office.<br />
The weekly meetings of Campus Council are open to all students, faculty, staff<br />
and the public. Meetings are Thursdays at 2 p.m. in the Toyon Room. Attend<br />
a meeting, see student leadership in action and find out how to earn optional<br />
leadership units; increase university transfer, career and internship options;<br />
learn to work collaboratively; and advocate for student rights. Learn or enhance<br />

prioritizing and communication skills. In addition to board positions, non-voting<br />
agent positions are available. <strong>Student</strong> officers manage the business of Campus<br />
Council representing a variety of ages, backgrounds, interests and academic<br />
majors. Some have prior experience in student government while others are<br />
discovering leadership potential for the first time. Each Campus Council member<br />
gains valuable experience through exposure to the variety of requests and<br />

(OBD/Clubs)<br />
Each club is linked to the Organizations Board of Directors (OBD) Club<br />
Council, and is required to send a voting representative to the weekly meetings<br />
Tuesdays at Noon. This voting representative acts as the public relations officer,<br />
paperwork facilitator and main point of contact. The primary function of the<br />
OBD is to provide funding and event clearance in an effective, organized and<br />
fair manner so all clubs have the opportunity to thrive. OBD also sponsors a<br />
quarterly Club Day information fair. All official club paperwork for funding and<br />
events is processed at OBD meetings and due completed by Tuesdays by<br />
11 a.m. Campus clubs reflect a variety of interests of the past and current<br />
student body. Clubs have differing focuses including academics, careers,<br />
diversity, education, politics, recreation, religion, service and social. This list<br />
includes almost all clubs that have ever existed at <strong>Foothill</strong> <strong>College</strong>. For a weekly<br />
updated roster that lists active clubs, contact <strong>Student</strong> Activities Office. Clubs<br />

The ASFC co-sponsors some athletic programs including Theater Dance<br />
Performances events and the Pom Squad works to promote them. <strong>Foothill</strong><br />
is a member of the Coast Conference of the California Community <strong>College</strong><br />
Athletic Association and fields athletic teams in women’s and men’s sports. Our<br />
