Newsletter UNEP ASC Geneva
Skiing in the springtime is such a pleasure ! Down heavy
jackets and bulky bibs give away to vests and t-shirts.
Mountaintop restaurant decks are packed with more sun
chairs than a sandy Costa
del Sol stretch. Skiers
seem more playful and
the mountains more
inviting. Skiing becomes a
pursuit of pleasure rather
than a test of technique.
So take the opportunity to
enjoy the last weeks of
« good snow » with mild
temperatures : )
Dear UNEP Colleagues,
Communication by Christophe Bouvier
As some of you may already have seen on I-Seek, the department of Safety and Security have
launched a new on-line "Basic Security In The Field II (BSITF II)" programme, replacing the old Basic
Security in the Field course, which was launched in 2003. The BSITF II contains new information,
exercises, questions, improved interactive components, and better cross-platform functionality.
Upon completion of the modules you will get a certificate valid for 3 years.
BSITF II is mandatory for all UNEP staff regardless of grade or function and gives valuable security
information for you and your family. Please note that the validity of the old Basic Security certificate
expires in June 2012.
The BSITF II course is currently available in English on the DSS security training website
(training.dss.un.org) and can be taken any time and anywhere. A translated version into other
languages will be available later in 2012.
We strongly encourage you to take the course as soon as you can and send a copy of the certificate
to your HR/training focal point.
Many thanks for your cooperation.
Best regards,
J. Christophe Bouvier
