production in 2011 is projected to reach 327 million ton. <strong>In</strong> <strong>2012</strong>, the GOI is targeting the<br />
coal production to increase 1.52% to reach 332 million ton.<br />
The table below shows that most mineral production for 2011 was higher than 2009<br />

<strong>In</strong> 2010, investment increased drastically to $3.186 billion from the 2009 figure of $1.81<br />
billion. <strong>In</strong> 2011, investment realization in mining sector reached $3.6 billion. The<br />
<strong>gov</strong>ernment estimates that investment in <strong>2012</strong> will increase significantly supported by<br />
greater certainty after the GOI issued new mining regulations. The <strong>gov</strong>ernment had<br />
issued several regulations attached to the new mining law in 2010. The implementation<br />
regulations, covering mining areas, coal and mineral businesses, mining supervision,<br />
reclamation and post mining issues, are expected to provide legal certainty and increase<br />
investors’ confidence in developing their mining projects.<br />
The value of imported mining equipment was estimated $1,167 million in 2011. U.S.<br />
suppliers held 30 percent of the total market share. Other major suppliers for mining<br />
equipment are Japan, Korea, China, Germany, Australia, Italy, and Sweden. <strong>In</strong>donesia<br />
mining industry is predicted to increase by an average growth of 11.2% until 2015.<br />

There are significant opportunities for the supply of various mining equipment and<br />
services to be utilized in various stages of mining operations including but not limited to:<br />
• Drilling equipment and parts,<br />
• Trucks, moving and hauling equipment, excavators, front end loaders,<br />
• Milling and processing equipment such as conveyors, sub mills, cyclones,<br />
crushers,<br />
• Consumables such as pumps, chemicals and reagents, filtration equipment,<br />
explosives,<br />
• Mine safety equipment,<br />
• Replacement parts, and,
