BON VOYAGE!!!<br />

Tomorrow, 4 of our very own LPHS teachers, Mrs. Thauvette, Mrs. Brayne, Mrs. Boray and Mrs.<br />

Hunter will be travelling to China to teach for 5 weeks.<br />

On behalf of all of the students and staff of LPHS we wish you safe travels. Have an amazing<br />

experience.<br />

CEGEPS AND COLLEGES’ OPEN HOUSE<br />

To all sec V students....below is the dates and times for the Open house for cegeps and<br />

colleges...it is very important that you do your best to attend....<br />

Marianopolis College ... Sunday <strong>October</strong> 28 th from noon to 4pm<br />

O'Sullivan College Tuesday <strong>October</strong> 30 th from 5pm to 8:30pm<br />

Vanier College Saturday November 3 rd from noon to 4pm<br />

Lasalle College Tuesday November 6 th from 10am to 8pm<br />

If you require any further info please check with the guidance office.<br />

GRAD SEMI‐FORMAL<br />

Grad Semi‐formal tickets are on sale. The cost of a ticket is $65 and can be purchased during<br />

recess in room 283.<br />

CUPCAKE FUNDRAISER<br />

Join us for a Halloween bake sale tomorrow during both lunch periods. All proceeds will go to<br />

the Starlight Foundation.<br />

YEARBOOK COVER PAGE<br />

Attention all grade 11 students… we are looking for a cover page for this year’s yearbook. It<br />

must represent LPHS as well as its 50th year anniversary. Work must be done on a regular 8 1/2<br />

by 11 paper and submitted to Ms. Moushaghayan or Mr. Worshell. The deadline is <strong>October</strong><br />

30th!


ENTERTAINMENT BOOK<br />

This is a reminder to all grad students…… The deadline to bring in money for your<br />

“Entertainment” books is this Friday. Please see return them to Mr. Hiotis during recess or<br />

lunch in room 283.<br />

PUMPKIN PETE IS BACK!<br />

Attention all LPHS students! For the 4 th consecutive year, the LPHS Student Council will be<br />

asking you to guess the weight of Pete the Pumpkin. The cost is only 50 cents per guess and the<br />

winner will get to take home Peter and all the candy inside him. Take note that your 50 cents<br />

will also get you candy worth double your investment. Peter will be in the main lobby during<br />

both lunch periods right up until Halloween. Please pass by and say Hi!<br />

The Student Council members will visit homerooms on Wednesday, <strong>October</strong> 31 st to give away<br />

candy to anyone dressed in a Halloween costume. Anyone wearing a costume will also have<br />

their name placed into the draw to win an iPod Shuffle and other prizes.<br />

KIDS HELP KIDS QUESTION/ANSWER CONTEST IN COLLABORATION WITH THE LPHS LIBRARY<br />

The winner of Question #2 is Nathalie Paquin. Congratulations! Please pick up your gift<br />

certificates at the library during recess.<br />

Participate and have a chance to win gift certificates from Cinema Guzzo or Chapters. Here’s<br />

how it works:<br />

Step 1: Go to the library to get the written questionnaire.<br />

Step 2: Check the books on display to help you find the answers.<br />

Step 3: Fill out the questionnaire and put it in the box provided.<br />

Here’s Question #3: People migrate for different reasons ‐ economic, environmental, political,<br />

social, or religious reasons.<br />

Define the following terms:<br />

a. Irregular migrant<br />

b. Internally displaced person or IDP<br />

c. Asylum seeker<br />

The winner will be announced Friday morning


HALLOWEEN DANCE<br />

Attention <strong>Lindsay</strong> <strong>Place</strong>!!! Come join us tomorrow night for our Halloween dance! The dance<br />

will run from 7pm to 11pm. It will be a blast, so we hope to see you there. Tickets are on sale<br />

at the beginning of both lunch periods in the main lobby. Cost of ticket is $7 for undergrads<br />

and $5 for grads. Tickets bought at the door will be $10.<br />

JUVENILE BOYS TOUCH FOOTBALL<br />

There is a practice after school today.<br />

JUVENILE BOYS SOCCER<br />

Attention all Juvenile Boys Soccer players! Please meet in the main lobby tomorrow at recess.<br />

Bring your jerseys; we will be collecting them after taking the team picture for the yearbook.<br />

MIDGET BOYS BASKETBALL<br />

The final tryout for Midget Boys basketball is tomorrow (Friday) at 4pm in the lower gym.<br />

EXHIBITION SOCCER GAME<br />

Bantam Boys and Midget Girls soccer players are to meet at the lower field at 4pm today for an<br />

exhibition game. The game will be played at either the upper field or Valois Park.<br />

MIDGET GIRLS SOCCER<br />

There is a short meeting at recess today in room 226. It is very important that all players<br />

attend.<br />

BANTAM HOCKEY TEAM<br />

INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT MEETING FOR ALL GRADES 7, 8 AND 9 BOYS INTERESTED IN PLAYING<br />

ON A BANTAM HOCKEY TEAM THIS YEAR. The meeting will take place in the upper gym at<br />

recess today. We have a coach! We have staff supervisors! And we even have permission to<br />

enter the league! You must attend this meeting to receive forms, tentative season schedule and<br />

fee list. ALL FORMS MUST BE BROUGHT BACK TO MRS. PIGOTT BY MONDAY AT RECESS, OR WE<br />

WILL NOT HAVE A TEAM.
