The <strong>International</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> (ICF) is pleased to announce<br />
its 15th anniversary annual gala. The event will be held on Saturday,<br />
May 14, 2005, beginning at 7:00 pm at the San Diego Sheraton Hotel<br />
and Marina-East Tower on Harbor Island.<br />
This special event will feature a VIP reception, Silent Auction, Dinner,<br />
Award Ceremony, and Dancing to Rico Tumbao, a well-known band<br />
that frequents Café Sevilla in San Diego. ICF is recognizing three outstanding<br />
award winners this year:<br />
Grantee of the Year: Niños de Capitán, A.C. for their successful construction of a day care facility<br />
and health clinic in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur<br />
Donor of the Year: Sempra Energy for their long-term commitment to nonprofit organizations in<br />
the U.S.-Mexico border region<br />
Collaborative Grantmaking Award: the <strong>International</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong>’s UN Tsunami<br />
Disaster Relief Fund, which has currently raised almost $800,000 toward disaster relief in South<br />
Asia with major contributions from five community foundations in the U.S. and Mexico, three local<br />
businesses, and hundreds of students, families, and individuals.<br />
Ticket prices begin at $125 per person, with sponsorship and underwriting opportunities available. Proceeds<br />
from the evening will benefit ICF’s “Sustainable Communities Fund,” which supports the foundation’s<br />
programmatic work throughout Baja California, Mexico and beyond.<br />
