Faerie House Workshop Rosé Room - 3:00PM Court: Candace Apple Entice the faeries into your world with a mystical magical faerie cottage created from gourds, mosses, stones, fungi, Candace Apple Founder and owner of the Phoenix & Dragon Book store in Sandy Springs since 1987, over the years Phoenix & Dragon Book store has evolved into a community center with over 30 classes, book sign ings and special events a month on topics rang ing from metaphysics to spirituality, holistic health and personal growth. Candace works with the Voyager Tarot Cards which reflect her love of archetypal symbol ism. Candace’s favorite place in the store is the enchanted land of faeries and the woods and garden surrounding the store where faeries and wildlife abound. Candace enjoys working with customers twigs, nuts and dried flowers. Let your imagination take wing as you design and build a faerie house fit for a faerie queen. Children welcome with an accompanying adult, hot glue guns are involved. All supplies provided. If a child is coming with an adult and they are making one faerie house, the child is free. We ask that you get separate tickets if each is making a faerie house or if there is more than one child per adult and they are making a house each. Workshop preference is one child per adult. Lindsay Archer From an early age, Lindsay declared that she was going to be an artist. After seeing her grandfather’s regret at not pursuing his talent, she vowed to use her gift. In elementary school she made copies of her early work with her father’s xerox copier and sold them for change to buy ice cream. During her high school years she continued her entrepreneurial endeavors by scultping figurines, painting T-Shirts, and painting items to sell at Pow Wows.
In 1999 Lindsay graduated with honors from The Art Institute of Atlanta and returned to her hometown in search of work, where she worked for an advertising company known as Third Wave Digital until she took a teaching position at Macon Technical College where she taught art and originated their 3D program. After observing successful artists, Lindsay took the leap to professional full time artist in the fall of 2003. Traveling to conventions around the country selling and promoting her artwork along with the work of other artists, Lindsay emerged on the fantasy/scifi scene. In 2004 Lindsay was one of Larry Elmore’s first art camp students, and with what she learned it took her artwork to the next level. Not long afterward, Lindsay began illustrating for Margaret Weis Productions, and her artwork was featured in role-playing such as the Serenity RPG, DragonLance RPG, Battlestar Galactica RPG, and the Supernatural RPG. Charlotte Babb Charlotte has been writing since she was four, making up stories about fairies in the back yard and aliens in the forest. She has studied the folk stories of many cultures and wonders what happened to ours. Where the stories are for people over 20 who have survived marriage, divorce, child-raising, education, bankruptcy, and widowhood? She loves Fractured Fairy Tales and writes them for your enjoyment. Bill Bridges Bill Bridges is a role-playing game developer and author. He was one of the primary White Wolf original developer (along with many others who contributed) to Werewolf: The Apocalypse from 1992 to 1995. He was extremely influential in turning the idea that werewolves could be something besides cursed humans, and instead be spiritual warriors defending the environment from inevitable impending doom.This idea has since been echoed in some of popular contemporary novel series in which werewolves can breed new werewolves in addition to creating new ones by biting them. While previous examples of this exist, his contributions help broaden the idea of what a werewolf could be or entail as accepted by the reading audience. He was a part of the original Mage: The Ascension design team. He has numerous writing credits encompassing most of the second edition World of Darkness games, and helped design the Werewolfcollectible card game, Rage. After years with White Wolf, he joined Holistic Design (HDI) where he co-created Fading Suns with Andrew Greenberg. Bridge’s most measurable contributions to the game were his “Alustro’s Journals” a series of Marco Polo style travel logs featuring the travels of the pilgrim Alustro and his companions as they moved from one area to another. He was also the primary author of the War in the Heaven’s series which revealed the secrets of the Symbiots and the Vau respectively. Minor literary similarities can be seen between the pro-environmental Symbiots and the ‘defenders of Gaia’ among the Garou in Werewolf the Apocalypse. Another common theme includes the deeper mysteries implied in the setting over the battle of fate and free will (in Fading Suns this manifest through the proxy war the Ananaki fight through Vau influence whereas in Werewolf: The Apocalypse it shows itself through the conflict between arch-spirits Wyrm, Weaver and Wyld. His work for other companies include writing for Chaosium, and development for the Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine role-playing games for Last Unicorn Games. He has also worked on computer games, notably Emperor of the Fading Suns for Segasoft (based on the Fading Suns RPG), co-writing scripts for Viacom’s “interactive horror movie”Dracula Unleashed, and more Star Trek work on Starfleet Academy for Interplay. Bridges moved back to White Wolf in 2002, replacing Jess Heinig as the developer for the revised edition of Mage: The Ascension, seeing the game he created through to its conclusion in the Time of Judgment.
