Based on the popular teen novel by Suzanne Collins, this film has
everything from science fiction, action and drama. Our protagonist
is sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic
world in the country of Panem, where the countries of North America
once existed. Once a year, a raffle is held to choose one boy and one
girl, aged 12–18, from each of the twelve districts to participate in the
Hunger Games, a competition in
which each contestant, or tribute,
battles until only one is left. When
her younger sister’s name is drawn
from the hat, Katniss volunteers to
take her place, but will she be ready
in time for the ultimate fight for
survival?
