Experience Sovereign Hill and learn about the history of the<br />
gold rush and life in the 1850’s. Pan for gold and go down into<br />
the underground mine for a guided tour. Enjoy unique period-style<br />
shopping, real life characters and entertainment. There is a host<br />
of activities available including stage coach rides, gold panning<br />
and historic costume photographs. See traditional blacksmiths<br />
and craftsmen shilling their trades. Talk to the characters of the<br />
1850’s as you visit many shops and retailers.<br />

Enjoy a guided tour of the Ballarat Wildlife Park, located in a<br />
native bushland setting. You will be greeted by ‘Patrick the<br />
Wombat’. See Tasmanian Devils and free-roaming emus. You’ll<br />
have the opportunity to touch and photograph a cuddly koala!<br />
You can hand-feed kangaroos. See an amazing crocodile along<br />
with other reptiles including snakes, goannas and giant lizards.<br />
Stroll through the craft and souvenir shops and enjoy a meal in<br />
the delightful café (own expense). Later visit Sovereign Hill for<br />
an exciting gold rush experience (same as K13). Pan for gold or<br />
go down into the mine. Visit the Chinese Village, which highlights<br />
the contribution of Chinese people who worked in the goldfields.<br />
Explore the Gold Museum and see a re-creation of the Eureka<br />
Stockade. Stroll along historic Main Street with its shops, working<br />
artisans and traditional craftsmen.<br />
