This year the Touring menu process has moved online.<br />

The Touring team is very excited about the switch. It<br />

means that you can see more information about the<br />

shows on offer to tour regional Western Australia in <strong>2011</strong><br />

including more images, video footage and audio, links to<br />

producers’ websites and more!<br />

It also means you can vote online, which will hopefully<br />

make the system more accessible and encourage<br />

more voting from presenters, community groups and<br />

individuals in regional <strong>WA</strong>.<br />

The process is happening through the cyberpaddock<br />

website – a site developed by the Blue Heeler National<br />

Touring Network. Big thanks to Roderick Poole<br />

from Regional <strong>Arts</strong> Victoria who has been incredibly<br />

supportive in helping us transition to online.<br />

WHAT IS SHoWS oN THe Go?<br />

Shows on the Go is a regional touring program<br />

delivered annually by country <strong>Arts</strong> <strong>WA</strong>. It<br />

provides self-contained, subsidised tours of<br />

professional performing arts productions to<br />

regional and remote Western Australia.<br />

Shows on the Go is a community-driven model.<br />

That means you decide which shows tour to your<br />

town by voting in the Touring menu.<br />

every year between two and four of the most<br />

popular shows are made available to community<br />

groups across the state for a performance fee<br />

between $2,000 and $7,000 per show.<br />

PReSeNTING A SHoW IN YoUR ToWN<br />

To present a show your organisation or group must be<br />

incorporated and hold a current ABN.<br />

If your organisation is not incorporated or does not have an ABN<br />

but you are interested in presenting please contact a member of<br />

the Touring Team to discuss your options.<br />

When presenting a show in your town country <strong>Arts</strong> <strong>WA</strong> will<br />

provide the performance, technical equipment and marketing<br />

materials as well as organising travel and accommodation for<br />

the touring party.<br />

You will be required to pay a Presenter Fee and royalties or<br />

APRA licence, hire a venue for the performance and hire a space<br />

for workshops, ensure 3-phase power is available, meet the<br />

touring party when they arrive in town, manage local marketing<br />

and ticket sales and may need to provide some technical<br />

assistance.<br />

that brought pop music to the<br />

masses - pre cD’s when lP’s<br />

ruled at 33rpm, and stations<br />

played them in defiance of the<br />

censorship prohibiting pop and<br />

rock music being played on<br />

popular radio, hence Rock the<br />

Boat.<br />

This 6-piece ‘33rpm Showband’<br />

play the greatest songs of the<br />

B2m is a six piece band from<br />

the Tiwi Islands which formed<br />

in late December 2004 in their<br />

home town of Nguiu. The band<br />

is made up of young Indigenous<br />

men who sing about the issues<br />

facing all young people such as<br />

drugs, alcohol and suicide.<br />

B2m is committed to creating<br />

positive experiences for Indigenous<br />

kids. School visits involve acoustic<br />

performances and discussions with<br />

the kids on how to create positive<br />

outcomes in their lives. Kids are<br />

downfall of a once great city<br />

– and to return the city to its<br />

journey of a young girl growing<br />

up in an African village where<br />

magic is real and powerful and<br />

belief and knowledge are in<br />

conflict. The girl meets many<br />

magical characters and learns<br />

Featuring puppetry, song and<br />

dance it is a celebration of<br />

child’s play in different cultures.<br />

guide 5 – 8 year old students to<br />

create their own village using found<br />

objects. They will then be lead in<br />

a role-play activity and bring the<br />

village to life through interactive<br />
