Ultraframe Composites Ltd (UCL) are pleased to offer you an opportunity
that is only open to a handful of retailers nationwide.
We are approaching motivated window retailers to take a new high end
window and door offering.
The product utilises the best of two long established window materials
– aluminium is used external for its formability, it’s durability and ease of
colour application. Meanwhile timber is used to it’s best effect – namely
internally where it can be left ‘natural’ or painted.
Composite windows and doors are manufactured in our 6500ft 2 factory in
the North West.
The opportunity
Individual retailers will have access to the product in an exclusive
way – each retailer will have personalised brochures in your corporate
identity, highlighting to the consumer the power of your local brand.
The product is offered in a choice of powder coated colours. Internally,
the timber (Ash) is sourced from FSC certified suppliers. The Ash can
be finished in a number of ways – simply sealed, or a light or dark stain
applied to mimic oak, the predominant timber used in furniture and home
interiors. In addition, we can prime in white ready for the homeowner to
complete the decoration.

Specification
This specification defines materials, construction finish and hardware for
the composite casement window, which conforms generally with BS
4873 specification for aluminium alloy windows. Windows described in
this specification are suitable for both domestic replacement windows
into an existing building and installation into new homes/conversions.
Materials
Aluminium: AlMgSi 0.5 Type 6060/6063 T5 in condition F22 (according to
NBN P21-001 and DIN 1725)
Sealings: E.P.D.M. according to DIN 7863, TV 110, NFP 85301, ISO 3994.
Tested and approved according to an artificial ageing test of “Plexi glass”
combined with vulcanised rubber.
Co-extruded profiles: according to DIN 7863, TV 110, BFP 85301, ISO
3994, tested and approved according to an artificial ageing test of “Plexi
glass” combined with vulcanised rubber.
Thermal break: Internal thermal break PVC window grade profile to
BS7413
Timber: Internal Ash timber and from FSC sources
Finishing
Electrostatic Powder coating: according to the guidelines of A..P.A.-
Qualicoat in most of the current RAL-colours.
Internal wood finishes in clear, light oak, antique oak and white primed
Anodisation in satin or bronze colours with EWAA/EURAS-Qualinod
quality label.
Construction
Frame members are cut at 90 degrees and faces coated with a suitable
gap sealer, glued then screwed together.
Aluminium sash members are mitre cut at 45 degrees and faces coated
with a suitable gap sealer using internal extruded aluminium corner cleats
together with a gluing compound.
Members are abutted and securely jointed by mechanical means.
Transoms and mullions are end milled to shape and mechanically
secured to frame members by means of self tapping screws driven in
screw ports in the profile.
All fixings used in construction shall be either stainless steel, aluminium
alloy or other suitable corrosion resistant materials.
Hardware
All opening vents are hung on concealed stainless steel variable angled
friction stays and fitted with espagnolette type 4 cam locking handles in
one of four finishes – satin chrome, satin brass, white or black.
To limit the opening, restrictor stays shall be fitted.
Glazing
Aluminium clip in beads and flexible gaskets inside and out meeting the
requirements of BS 6262, Code of Practice for Glazing for Buildings.
Sealed units - 24mm, outer pane 4mm SGC Diamant low Iron (or 4mm
float), Argon filled cavity, 4mm Planitherm Total softcoat inner pane,
Swisspacer V and 4mm pu. ‘U’ value is 1.7.
Performance
Windows having been tested in accordance with the requirements of
BS6375 Pt 1 for weather tightness:-
Air permeability Class C 600pa
Water Tightness 600pa
Wind Resistance 2400pa

within maximum limitations.
• Externally beaded/sercurity taped.

• Window Energy Rating – band B and C equivalent (‘U’ value 1.7)

choice of glazing detail
• Sash insert - allows for fully framed or low threshold door sashes

All prices exclude vat and are ex-works. Windows and doors are priced unglazed. The price includes a standard powder coated colour and a
standard finish to the internal Ash. Window prices include a 150mm cill. Single doors and french doors are supplied with a 190mm cill (cill is 25mm
