FIRJAN – FEDERATION OF INDUSTRIES OF THE STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO
The Firjan System works to promote permanent business interaction aimed at
maintaining the privileged national ranking of Rio de Janeiro and to defend State
interests in the political, economic and social scenarios in Brazil.
The Firjan System is made up of five institutions: Firjan is responsible for developing
and coordinating studies, surveys and projects to guide policies designed to promote
the industry and attract new investments to Rio de Janeiro.
Today, 105 business associations are affiliated to Firjan:
1 – Representing 9.201 statewide companies;
2 – CIRJ, a central business gateway through which other companies may affiliate with
Firjan in order to gain access to the many contacts, resources and programs offered by
System;
3 – Sesi, a provider of social services to industry workers and their families;
4 – Senai (National Services of Industrial Learning), a national service sponsoring skills
training programs;
5 – IEL, an entity promoting deeper relations between industries and educational
research organizations.
CIN – INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CENTRE OF SEBRAE/RJ AND FIRJAN
By offering business interfaces to both national and foreign companies, the
International Business Centre, a partnership between Sebrae/RJ – Small Business
Agency in the State of Rio de Janeiro and Firjan – Federation of Industries of the State
of Rio de Janeiro, not only provides an appropriate business environment but also
provides operating tools which facilitate both dialogues and negotiations between
individual national businesses and overseas companies. The purpose is to aid the
closing of successful international business agreements. Through the Business Centre,
any company will have access to valuable information in many different areas, such as:
import, export, joint venture formation, miss commercial representation, industrial
sub‐subcontracting, franchising and overseas business publicity and promotion.

ONIP – NATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY
The National Organization of the Petroleum Industry is a Brazilian institution created in
1999 with the objective of maximizing local content on Oil & Gas project in Brazil. ONIP
act as a neutral cooperation and mobilizing body, involving the sectors main players
(Oil & Gas Companies, suppliers of goods and services, investors, and government). It’s
primary initiatives are aligned by three majors guidelines: to strengthen and to
enhance the installed local industrial capacity, by encouraging new investments either
by Brazilian or foreign companies; to promote cost reduction in the Brazilian Oil & Gas
sector; to increase competitiveness of Brazilian suppliers in all petroleum – related
segments.
Pursuing its main objectives, ONIP has made available through the internet a vendors
list of qualified Brazilian suppliers of goods and services and has been giving assistance
to promote partnership between Brazilian and foreign companies.

CODIN ‐ RIO DE JANEIRO STATE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
The Company of Industrial Development of Rio de Janeiro – CODIN, an enterprise
associated to the State’s Secretary of Economic Development, has the mission of
promoting the economic development, of attracting investments that are
environmentally adequate, and of increasing the productive activities, aiming the
generation of jobs and income.
In this sense, CODIN develops several mechanisms for the incitement of new
investments such as: fiscal and financial incentives, industrial areas, as well as interface
near the dealerships of Civil and Private Service in all stages of the project. CODIN does
all of that for free.
There are several strategic projects happening in the State. Those projects create new
businesses and investments, considerably contributing to the growth of the State's
industrial park and making possible the incensement of several productive chains.
