NWPPA NISC selects two new VPs O Associate Member News n June 24, 2009, National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC), a leading provider of information technology products and services, announced two new additions to its executive team. David Bonnett has been hired as NISC’s vice president of Utility Solutions and Todd Eisenhauer has been promoted to vice president of Engineering and Operations Solutions. Bonnett is the former vice president of Product Management with Aclara Software, a meter data management and customer analytics software application provider. He brings 17 years experience in the utility and software industry where he worked with cooperatives, municipals, investor-owned utilities, and retailers. Eisenhauer began his career with NISC in Member Support, where he supported members with NISC’s first geographic information system (GIS). NWPPA Elster launches new EnergyAxis ® site n June 24, Elster, a leader in smart metering and smart grid systems and solutions, announced the launch of its new EnergyAxis ® O System Web site, www.energyaxis.com. The Web site highlights Elster’s unifying solutions for the smart grid and its commitment to delivering a secure, IP-based system, leveraging open standards in an end-to-end smart grid system architecture. (Powel), located in St. Paul, Minn. PCS specializes in the development and support of multi-service utility billing and accounting software; Powel provides WorkStudio, a Mobile Work Management platform with office-based analysis. NWPPA One TEA manager certified, one promoted T he Energy Authority ® (TEA ®), the nation’s leader in public power energy trading, announced on July 2 that Pauline Williams-Banta, business continuity manager, has earned the Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) certification, the highest level of certification awarded through the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI International). It is the ultimate recognition for planners, practitioners, and managers in business continuity and disaster recovery. Williams- Banta, who has more than 10 years’ experience in the business continuity field, is one of only six MBCPs in the state of Florida and 111 in the United States. Additionally, TEA is pleased to announce that Bill Clarke has been promoted to the position of executive director, Regional Pauline Williams-Banta Bill Clarke Transmission Organization (RTO) Market Services. NWPPA R&R Sy-Tec is now TerraSpatial Technologies A fter 40-years of operation as R&R Sy-Tec, the Oregonbased company has changed its name to TerraSpatial Technologies to more accurately reflect the company’s solutions for geospatially centric applications in electric, water, and wastewater utilities. Founded in The Dalles, Ore., in 1969, the company offers integrated geospatial and field automation solutions for community-based municipal and rural electric utilities. Although a majority of the customer base is among municipal and rural electric cooperatives, several projects for investor-owned utilities have also been completed during its long market tenure. “The previous owners successfully operated this company for nearly four decades, concentrating mainly on community-based utilities,” explained Joe McCulloch, TerraSpatial’s new president and CEO. “A little over a year ago, we took over the reins of a well-established and successful company.
