The Warren Central Lady Warriors’ basketball team enters this season minus six seniors from the ’07-’08
campaign. Leadership, however, won’t be in short supply; directing the charge are experienced and talented
seniors Keona Bruen, Qaniah Douglas, Emily Wright and Shay Walls. Bruen returns as the leading scorer
from last year’s season. Joining her are juniors Jordan Barton and Brandi McKinney, who could be the focal
point on the court for the next two years. Juniors Kristien Malone and Bre Turner also look to be key contributors
in the Warriors’ quest for success. Also adding to the Lady Warriors’ depth are Rayven Davis,
Bianca King, Anna Rowe, Ayannna Smith, and Alyson Gaines. Freshmen BreAnn Denny, Linzi Moore, and
Kalliste Haskins are also capable and promising additions to the Lady Warriors nation.
First year Coach Michael Brooks and staff acknowledge that the Lady Warriors have not captured a conference
win in two years. If the Lady Warriors’ pre-season work ethic and performance are any indication, that
will change this season.
