American Psychological Association and<br />
Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools<br />
The American Psychological Association (APA) Education Directorate will award one certificate recognizing outstanding<br />
research in psychology science under the category of behavioral and social sciences or any category related to psychology<br />
(e.g., animal sciences, computer science, environmental science, medicine & health).<br />

ASM International Foundation<br />
The ASM International Foundation will provide a medallion and certificate to recognize the winner of the best materials<br />
engineering project.<br />

Association for Women Geoscientists<br />
The Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) will be providing an Award Certificate to the female student whose exhibit<br />
exemplifies high standards of innovativeness and scientific excellence in geosciences. Special consideration will be given<br />
to projects that increase the public awareness of the geosciences, illustrate the interdisciplinary nature of the geosciences,<br />
or promote the sensitivity to the earth as a global system.<br />

Genius Olympiad<br />
The Exceptional Genius Award will be presented to two recognized projects along with an opportunity to compete in<br />
GENIUS Olympiad, an international high school project competition focusing on environmental issues. Students in grades<br />
9-12 will be eligible to compete by submitting a project which aims to raise awareness of sustainability problems in our world<br />
among high school students. The <strong>2012</strong> GENIUS Olympiad will be held June 24-29 in Oswego, New York. Lodging, meal<br />
and local transportation will be provided by GENIUS Olympiad.<br />

I-SWEEP <strong>2012</strong><br />
This is awarded to top high school projects selected in the categories of Energy, Engineering, or Environment who displays<br />
outstanding work in the theme of environmental sustainability and innovation. Winner will have the opportunity to attend the<br />
International Sustainable World Project Olympiad to be held in Houston, TX between May 2-7, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)<br />
This award will go to the one individual (middle or high school) selected from among all the general award categories whose<br />
research emphasizes NOAA’s mission “to understand and predict changes in climate, weather, oceans, coasts, to share<br />
that knowledge and information with others, and to conserve and manage coastal and marine ecosystems and resources.”<br />

The National Society of Professional Engineers in Industry will provide one award (grades 7-12) for the most outstanding<br />

This award will go to the one (individual) or team project, selected from among all the general award categories, whose<br />
technological and scientific innovations best reflect the principles of sustainability-balancing economic development with<br />
environmental responsibility<br />

Rotary Club of Cape Girardeau<br />
The Rotary Club of Cape Girardeau will present a $100 cash award to a student from a Cape Girardeau School.<br />

<strong>Southeast</strong> <strong>Missouri</strong> Dental Society<br />
The <strong>Southeast</strong> <strong>Missouri</strong> Dental Society, in addition to a donation to the general science fair fund, will provide a cash award<br />
to the outstanding project in the senior division ($100) and junior division ($25) showing outstanding creativeness, scientific<br />
thought and thoroughness. Dentistry is an amalgam of many scientific disciplines and the award is not restricted to a<br />
particular field of study.<br />

U.S. Air Force<br />

The Department of the Army will offer awards to senior division exhibitors for scientific/engineering excellence in five<br />
categories: Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematics/Computer Science, and Physical Sciences.<br />
Students will receive a Certificate of Achievement, a presentation folder and a tangible award. Four of the five each will<br />
receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. The remaining category winner, who is considered the most outstanding, will receive a<br />
$100 U.S. Savings bond and a medallion for science/engineering excellence.<br />

Water Environment Federation<br />
The Water Environment Federation will present a certificate to the student (grades 9-12) with the best project related to<br />
water quality, water resource management, water protection, water treatment or wastewater treatment. The student may<br />
also be considered to represent the United <strong>State</strong>s at the Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition in Stockholm, Sweden,<br />
during the Stockholm Water Festival.<br />

Yale Science and Engineering Association<br />
The Yale Science & Engineering Association, Inc. will be providing an award certificate and medallion to the most<br />

BROADCOM MASTERS<br />
The Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars) is a competition for 6-8 th<br />
grade students who participate in an SSP-affiliated fair. As a nominee, students are eligible to register and complete an online<br />
application to compete nationally for valuable prizes and awards. From these entrants, the top 300 Semifinalists will be<br />
announced in August <strong>2012</strong>. Thirty of the 300 semifinalists will be named finalists and will participate in the finals and win an<br />
all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC in September, <strong>2012</strong>. The top winner will receive a $25,000 Education Award.<br />
