Solid-Liquid separation is an integral part of many manufacturing processes
which produce the wide variety of materials used in our everyday lives. Centrifuges
are often used in industrial applications to isolate solids which are highgrade
products, require intensive washing or are generally difficult to filter.
GFT offer you a wide range of laboratory and pilot-plant centrifuges of different
designs for basic testing of the main centrifugal separation techniques,
including: filtration, sedimentation, classification and clarification. A variety
of highly flexible laboratory and pilot plant centrifuge systems are available
which provide you with a key-tool for investigating and developing your
industrial production process.
All of our centrifuges for laboratory and pilot plant applications share one
common feature: They are designed to provide the same performance results
as a full-scale production centrifuge to enable you to obtain safe and reliable
data to facilitate scale-up to your production separation processes. Our GFT
Laboratory and Pilot Plant Centrifuges are well suited for tests in kilo-scale
applications and are flexible enough to be used in small-scale production
applications.
Important features associated with our range of GFT Laboratory and Pilot
Plant Centrifuges include mobility with the complete centrifuge unit including
all its support systems being skid mounted on a trolley. The skid-mounted centrifuge
is a compact, ready-for-connection test unit which can be used in different
locations within your facilities. The ergonomic design and the adherence
to cGMP facilitate and encourage daily use in a laboratory. The size of the
units enables them to be housed within flexible or rigid containment systems
and below plant installed extractor hoods and systems.
Our GFT Centrifuges for Laboratory and Pilot Plant applications are available
in a variety of flexible configurations including being supplied with nitrogen
purge systems, CIP-Systems, ex-proof designs or double-jacketed housings for
cooling and heating.

Safe cleaning of
the centrifuge
The GFT Horizontal Peeler Centrifuges Type H 250 and H 400 are designed to
accommodate the increasingly rigorously regulated environments provided by
the modern laboratories and test facilities, pilot plants or small-scale productions.
The centrifuge type H 250 with a basket diameter of 320 mm is a special
design which will even allow you to run the centrifuge with the same filter
cake thickness as on a production unit and which will allow you to investigate
the discharge properties of your filter cake.
The benefits and features associated with this range of centrifuge include:
Process flexibility
The machines are designed for frequent product changeover and fast start-up
with new products. The complete centrifuge system is skid mounted on a trolley
for facilitate use in different locations. All support systems and the control
system can be mounted inside a pressure-tight or a pressure-encapsulated cabinet
mounted on the skid.
GMP-Design
A process chamber which can be cleaned to cGMP standard can be supplied,
easy to clean product-contacted surfaces, automatic cleaning systems guarantee
to clean the centrifuge safely even if product changeover takes place very
frequently. In addition the centrifuge housing can be opened completely to
allow post process and post cleaning inspection of the process area without
disassembly of any machine part.

GFT – Vertical Centrifuges
Type V 200-O, V 300-O und V 400-O
Perforated basket
The GFT vertical centrifuges type V 200-O, V 300-O und V 400-O are designed
for basic testing of centrifugal separation techniques. The basic model is equipped
with a perforated basket and a filter cloth, to collect the solids separated
from the liquid. The isolated filter cake is then discharged manually out of the
centrifuge basket.
In addition baskets of various designs can be installed to test other centrifugal
separation techniques including sedimentation, classifying and clarification.
